Arnold Schwarzenegger made light of his divorce from ex-wife Maria Shriver on Thursday.
The 78-year-old actor was a guest speaker at journalist Chris Wallace’s Hollywood Walk of Fame star ceremony, where he referenced his former spouse, 69.
Praising Wallace, Schwarzenegger said, ‘The reason why I know he’s a fantastic journalist is because I know a lot about journalists.
‘I’ve been interviewed, you can imagine, in my lifetime, by thousands and thousands of journalists.’
He then quipped about his former spouse, ‘Not only that, I also was married to a journalist. The only difference between Chris and Maria is that Chris has never taken half of my money.’

At the time of their split, they released a joint statement that read, ‘This has been a time of great personal and professional transition for each of us.
‘After a great deal of thought, reflection, discussion, and prayer, we came to this decision together.’
The former couple noted that they had been living apart and navigating ‘the future of our relationship.’
Together, they said, ‘We are continuing to parent our four children together. They are the light and the center of both of our lives.’
Schwarzenegger shares daughters Katherine, 35, Christina, 34, and sons Patrick, 32, and Christopher, 27, with Shriver, 69.
Seven days later Schwarzenegger addressed his affair, which he had with former housekeeper Mildred Patricia Baena, in a statement to the Los Angeles Times: ‘After leaving the governor’s office I told my wife about this event, which occurred over a decade ago.
‘I understand and deserve the feelings of anger and disappointment among my friends and family.
‘There are no excuses and I take full responsibility for the hurt I have caused. I have apologized to Maria, my children and my family. I am truly sorry.’

The affair produced the actor-turned-politician’s son Joseph Baena, 27.Â
Baena didn’t know that the Austrian bodybuilder was his father until he was 13-years-old.Â
Shriver filed for divorce on July 1, 2011.
In a December 2017 interview with Men’s Journal, the former California governor opened up about his headline-making affair.
‘I can beat myself up as much as I want — it’s not gonna change the situation. So the key thing is, how do you move forward? How do you have a great relationship with your kids?’ he was quoted in the article.
He added, ‘You can’t go back — if I could, in reality, be Terminator, of course I would go back in time and would say, ‘Arnold … no.”
And he noted, ‘You know, it’s always easy to be smart in hindsight. That’s not the way it works.’
