Ariana Grande wants to put an end to the body-shaming comments that have been dogging her once and for all.
The Wicked: For Good actress, 32, sent out a gentle reminder to critics to be kind as she shared an emotional interview released last December during the promotional tour for the first Wicked.
‘Resharing this from last year as a loving reminder to all,’ she wrote on the post on her Instagram Stories on November 29.
During the sit-down chat for web series Oui Oui Baguette, a tearful Grande confessed she was used to comments about her appearance but that it was ‘dangerous’ not just to her but to everyone.
‘In today’s society, there is a comfortability that we shouldn’t have at all – commenting on others’ looks, appearance, what they think is going on behind the scenes, or health or how they present themselves … that I think is really dangerous,’ she said as co-star Cynthia Erivo held her hand.
‘I’ve been doing this in front of the public, and been a specimen in a petri-dish since I was 16 or 17,’ Grande continued.

‘So, I have heard it all. I’ve heard every version of it, of what’s wrong with me. And then you fix it, and then it’s wrong for different reasons.’
She went on to say, ‘It’s hard to protect yourself from that noise, and I think it’s something that is uncomfortable no matter what scale you’re experiencing it on.’
The Florida-born star – who is of Italian descent with Sicilian and Abruzzeze roots – mentioned in the clip that she was grateful to have a network of friends and family who support her.
‘I’m really lucky to have the support system that I have, and to know and trust that I’m beautiful,’ she said.
Grande has been the subject of speculation surrounding her weight since she began promoting Wicked last year, and the comments have continued as she makes the rounds touting the sequel.
Her willowy appearance at the SAG Awards earlier this year caused fans to take to X to air their concern and beg her loved ones to intervene.
‘For real tho. Is Ariana Grande ok? She so thin and talks so slow now. Im actually worried,’ one fan wrote.
Another shared, ‘Someone’s got to intervene with Ariana because something is NOT right with her. She’s too skinny and looks like she’s faking a smile it’s sooo depressing being a fan.’

‘I hope Ariana Is healthy. I hope, she gains some weight. Healthy weight. Women should love their body without dieting crazy. One day, I hope to see that women are seen beautiful at a healthy weight. Not being Rail thin,’ a third commented.
Back in 2023, Grande felt compelled to speak out when people were comparing her appearance then to what it looked like when she was younger.
‘There are many different ways to look healthy and beautiful,’ she said in a three-minute confessional on TikTok.
‘And personally, for me, the body that you’ve been comparing my current body to was the unhealthiest version of my body,’ she continued. ‘I was on a lot of antidepressants and drinking on them and eating poorly and at the lowest point of my life when I looked the way you consider my healthy, but that, in fact, wasn’t my healthy.’
Grande’s recent clapback comes in the wake of her terrifying ambush by a crazed fan while walking the red carpet at the Singapore premiere of Wicked: For Good on November 13.
The actress was walking beside Erivo, 38, who bravely stepped in front of her when she saw the man charging towards them.
The video, which was shared widely across the internet, showed the man lunging at Grande and putting his arm around her as she struggled to get away.
Erivo, who plays Elphaba in the film, jumped in between her friend and the man to try and block him while seemingly shouting something at him.

Moments later a group of security guards at the event pulled him away, leaving a visibly shaken Grande being comforted by Erivo.
The culprit was quickly identified as notorious Australian red carpet crasher Johnson Wen, aka Pyjama Man online.
He has shared videos after accosting other celebrities such as Katy Perry, The Weeknd and electronic duo The Chainsmokers in a similar manner during their gigs.
Wen shared clips from the moment on his Instagram Story, writing: ‘Dear Ariana Grande Thank You for letting me Jump on the Yellow Carpet with You.’
Eerie videos taken before he jumped over a barricade to see Grande showed him saying it is his ‘dream’ to meet the actress.
Standing underneath a poster of Ariana in Wicked, Wen said: ‘I feel like I’m in a dream. That’s my best friend Ariana Grande and I’m going to meet her. I’ve been dreaming about that,’ before doing a theatrical laugh.
After his stunt, Wen later posted on his Instagram stories he was ‘free’ after Grande’s fans watched him get tackled to the ground by security.
Wen has since been hit with a public nuisance charge, according to the BBC.
