Ariana Grande Fans Fume Over £4,000 Ticket Prices as Alan Davies Criticizes Resale Sites

Comic Alan Davies is told of his fury at not being able to buy tickets for US pop singer Ariana Grande after learning that they are on resale sites for more than £4,000.

The QI star attempted to purchase some for his daughter for Ariana’s gigs at London’s O2 Arena but he quickly learned they were already appearing on the likes of Vigagogo and Ticketmaster for inflated prices.

Alan, 59, took to X to lambast them as ‘scumbag tout sites.’

He wrote: ‘Hmm, I joined the @ticketmaster Ariana Grande pre-sale waiting room ahead of the 10am start, on behalf of my teenage daughter, and while I was queuing for an hour like a mug these tickets had already appeared on the scumbag tout sites, now the gig is showing as sold out. Wicked.’

The tickets, which went on pre-sale on Tuesday, sold out within minutes, leaving many trying to purchase some on re-sale websites.

But most were met with hiked up prices, causing many to vent their frustration.

Brisbane-based Jade Campbell recently posted a fiery rant to TikTok, revealing the mishap occurred after trying to purchase two tickets to one of the singer’s upcoming Canadian shows.

‘Ticketmaster charged us $80,000 for Ariana Grande tickets. I am not exaggerating, I wish I was,’ she began.

She added she believed the mistake began when she was unable to purchase one of the first-round tickets and had to buy one of the resells, which saw her charged significantly more than the listed price.

It follows reports that Ariana, whose was left devastated when her gig at the Manchester Arena was the target of bombers back in 2017, said she was ‘bothered’ after her Eternal Sunshine tour sold out within minutes and scalpers were already attempting to resell tickets with hiked-up prices.

On Sunday, the singer-songwriter, 32, took to social media to address her fans’ concerns and said she is ‘fighting for a solution’ so they can attend her long-awaited tour in 2026.

On Saturday morning, she shared a post and wrote: ‘Hi my angels, I have been on set all week but I wanted to let you know that what’s been happening with the secondary ticket resellers has been brought to my attention.

‘Of course I am incredibly bothered by it.

‘I’ve been on the phone every second of my free time fighting for a solution. Hopefully we will be able to get more of these tickets into your hands instead of theirs. It’s not right.’

She assured her fans that she and her team were ‘doing everything we can.’

Back in May 2017, 22 people were killed and 1,017 were injured after terrorists bombed the Manchester Arena where Ariana was playing.

Speaking of the tragedy, she said she was ‘broken. from the bottom of my heart, i am so so sorry. I don’t have words.’
