At the time of their fallout, Anthea had just split up from Grant Bovey following his infidelity and their fertility problems, while her sister 57, was also going through a rough patch with husband Gary Webster.

Anthea’s sister (pictured right) revealed she offered to donate her eggs during her sibling’s fertility battle before they fell out and didn’t speak for four years (pictured in 2004)
Wendy recalled: ‘When he [Grant] left her for the last time his PA phoned me to say, ‘Can you come over? Anthea is really hurting.’ There were a lot of incidents like that. Talking it all through, having a few G&Ts and shouting at the world.
‘It was heartbreaking: she’d had a lot of IVF and we had talked about donating my eggs at one point.’
Anthea added: ‘Wendy and I never lived in each other’s pockets, but even so it was tough when we didn’t speak for a couple of years. I’d just got divorced. I’d had all my eggs in one basket with Grant and I was not expecting it to blow up.
‘Wendy and Gary were having problems but it was their life and there was only so much I could do. ‘
The former Blue Peter presenter married Grant Bovey in 2000, but they divorced in 2015 in the years after it was revealed he had had an affair

The former Blue Peter star insisted that these days her sister and brother-in-law are ‘completely solid’ before revealing that the catalyst for their reunion was their mum’s ill health.
The pair lost their mother Jean in 2022, and while Anthea and Wendy resumed contact in the years before that, the former GMTV hosted insisted that they will ‘never discuss’ their falling out.
Nowadays, Anthea – who remains close to her stepdaughters Claudia 27, Amelia 29, and Lily, 30 – and her sister communicate ‘every other day’.
When they did start speaking again, the sisters found that they were able to pick things up where they left off simply because they are family.
