Anne and Jeremy have had a friendship for years and even starred in 2022 flick Armageddon Time together.
Meanwhile, his daring fashion choice also sparked a flurry of jabs from fans, with some comparing him to ‘Paddington bear’s cousin.’
Others joked that he resembled his Succession character Kendall Roy, who was known for testing fashion limits in order to appear cool.
‘Fire your fashion designer,’ one fan pleaded with the Zero Dark Thirty star.
One fan wrote out an imaginary scenario between Jeremy and his stylist.
‘STYLIST: What do you wanna do for the Golden Globes? JEREMY STRONG: I’m thinking Hunter S. Thompson in the Beastie Boys. STYLIST: Got it. JEREMY STRONG: Paddington’s cousin who sells coke. STYLIST: Okay. JEREMY STRONG: Stanley Tucci playing Gilligan. STYLIST: Right.’
Another fan joked that Jeremy told his stylist he wanted to look like ‘a cross between a 70s bathroom and, uhh, like, the *cuddliest* pimp.’
Many pointed out the similarities between Jeremy and his Succession character Kendall, joking that the look was reminiscent to one particular birthday scene from the show.

In a Season 3 episode, Kendall throws himself a lavish birthday party, wearing a flashy and bold outfit for the occasion, consisting of a bright green Prada turtleneck paired with a Gucci bomber jacket.
‘It’s giving Kendall birthday party vibes,’ another added.
‘This is Kendall all the way.’
‘Caught Jeremy Strong at the Golden Globes looking like he raided the wardrobe of a Scooby-Doo villain. Dude, the only mystery here is how he thought this was a good look,’ another questioned.
‘actually jeremy strong lived up to his name bc i can’t imagine 1. going to an awards ceremony, 2. in a turtleneck and velvet suit and bucket hat, 3. and losing for the second year in a row against my coworker.’
However, others showed more appreciation for the fashion-forward look.
‘The velvet bucket hat goes insanely hard jeremy strong they could never call you boring,’ one wrote.
While on the red carpet, Jeremy was joined by wife Emma Wall. She wowed in a sleeveless white dress paired with a chunky gold necklace.

The pair have been married since 2016.
Jeremy was nominated for Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role for his role in The Apprentice.
However, it was his onscreen brother and Succession co-star Kieran Culkin who took home the award for his role in A Real Pain.
The victory was especially significant, as he was up against heavyweights like Yura Borisov (Anora), Edward Norton (A Complete Unknown), Guy Pearce (The Brutalist) and Denzel Washington (Gladiator II).
It comes after Strong’s method acting on Succession was blasted by Culkin, who made a barbed comment.
Culkin took issue with actors who call themselves ‘storytellers.’
During a conversation with Coleman Domingo for Variety’s annual Actors on Actors series, Culkin, 42, said, ‘I object to when actors call themselves “storytellers.” I don’t really like that. Sorry, Jeremy [Strong].

Culkin and Strong played siblings Roman and Kendall Roy on Succession, a series about the Roy family children vying for control over their father Logan’s billion-dollar business.
‘I don’t think I’m telling the story. Jesse Eisenberg was really good at making sure everyone was involved, but he wrote it,’ he said, referring to his A Real Pain co-star.
‘He’s telling the story. We’re all helping him. So that note you got — if you’re aware of the story you’re trying to tell, and you’re trying to tell the story in the scene, that’s not really your job.’
Domingo replied, ‘We’re not storytellers. We’re servants of the story,’ prompting Culkin to say, ‘Let’s f***ing work together, man.
Strong was previously profiled in Vanity Fair talking about his commitment to method acting, a school of acting in which the actor inhabits the character 24/7 for the duration of the shoot.
Daniel Day Lewis is a famous and well-known actor who also was a method actor and he retired at 60, citing the toll that school of acting took and how he didn’t believe in his work or characters anymore.
In an interview with The Sunday Times earlier this fall, Strong revealed that his role as Kendall Roy ‘f***ed up his life’ and had a worrying long-term impact on his mental health.
He explained that he ‘sometimes lost touch with joy’ while reflecting on his time playing the character on the Emmy-winning hit series Succession.
‘It f***ed me up,’ he admitted before adding that he ‘doesn’t miss it,’ he said noting that unlike his co-stars, he didn’t leave his character on set, he lived it all of the time.
‘Listen, that show was an incalculable gift,’ Strong said about Succession and finally leaving his character behind. ‘The material a banquet. So I miss that.’

He continued: ‘But Kendall’s struggle was difficult to carry for seven years. And there’s just so much more I want to do.’
When asked if he would return to the role for a spin-off if the opportunity presented itself, he shut it down.
‘It’s not something I have any wish to do any longer,’ he said. ‘I’m aware it is one of the main chapters of my life, but I don’t miss it.’
Culkin isn’t the only person that has criticized Strong’s method acting, so has Brian Cox, who played the family patriarch Logan Roy.
In early 2023, he called Strong’s method acting ‘f***ing annoying.’ But recently he had a somewhat backhanded compliment to pay to Strong.
‘He was wonderful to act with. I had no argument with Jeremy’s acting,’ Cox said in an interview with The Guardian.
‘He would be an even better actor if he just got rid of that so there would be much more inclusiveness in what he did.’
