Anna Paul has been slammed by detractors for spending $20,000 on brand new curtains after her cats destroyed the ones in her rental home.
The influencer, 25, took to TikTok recently to confess to spending the huge amount in a video where she shows the price on her internet banking app.
‘I paid 20 grand this morning to pay for curtains because our cats (yes I’m blaming our cats), they ripped up the curtains in one of our old rental properties and they’re like “hey you guys gotta replace these curtains, 20 grand please?”‘
‘So, I fork it out. That’s just what you do, isn’t it? It’s weird too because I grew up extremely broke.
‘And when I say extremely broke, I mean like my parents were like “bro, we’re going to be homeless.” We got food from the homeless shelters, it was a whole thing. Anyway, now I’m paying 20 thousand dollar bills for cat curtains,’ the TikTok star said.
Soon after Anna posted the video, several detractors took to Reddit to complain about the influencer’s display of wealth.
‘I don’t understand showing off the 20 grand that she paid for getting curtains done to followers and making a sob story about it in her recent TikTok,’ wrote one Reddit user.
‘Like I understand your rich and all, but would never get the point of showing it with the other phone to her followers lol,’ they added.

‘$20k for curtains is wild,’ wrote another user.
‘This girl needs another Glen in her life. She’s changed drastically. And not in a good way,’ said another, referring to her former relationship with Glen Thompson, who she dated for eight years before breaking up in 2023.
Meanwhile, another Redditor replied casting doubt on Anna’s accounts of childhood poverty.

It comes after Anna called out a Love Island star for lying about having met her during his European holiday.
Anna took to her Instagram Stories on last month to re-share a post from Jordan Dowsett where he claimed to have met her.

Jordan, who starred on the fourth season of Love Island Australia, showed off his muscular frame as he posted a shirtless snap while in the sea in Positano, Italy.
In the caption, he gushed over meeting influencer Anna earlier in the day, even tagging her in the post as he shared the news with his 58,000 followers.
He penned: ‘In love with this coast line. Met @annapaul today which was so cute.’
However, Anna was quick to hit back at his post as she insisted he was lying about having met her because she isn’t even on the Amalfi Coast anymore.
Re-sharing the snap, Anna penned: ‘No you didn’t HAHA. I’m not even in Positano anymore. People are crazy.’
Just hours later, she shared a photograph of herself enjoying the mountain landscapes in Bayern, Germany, confirming she was no longer in Italy.
Jordan’s original post no longer features on his Instagram, but it is unclear if he deleted it, or if it expired from the 24-hour time slot on his Stories.
But he later took to his Instagram Grid to confirm that he was just ‘taking the p**s’ and hadn’t really met the popular social media star.
