Two and a Half Men alum Angus T. Jones looked unrecognizable as he stepped out to run errands in Los Angeles last Friday in a rare public sighting.
The 30-year-old reclusive former child star – clutching an old-school flip phone – sported a substantial burly beard with tinted glasses, a black baseball cap, matching T-shirt, and baggy blue jeans.
Angus originally made his acting debut, at age five, in Matthew Warchus’ 1999 film Simpatico alongside Jeff Bridges, Sharon Stone, and Nick Nolte.
Jones was only nine in 2003 when he was cast as Jake Harper, a 10-year-old living with his divorced dad (Jon Cryer) and hedonistic uncle (Charlie Sheen), in the hit CBS sitcom and he went on to win two Young Artist Awards.
By 17, the Texan-born actor was earning up to $300K per episode, but just two years later he publicly rebelled against Two and a Half Men after being baptized as a Seventh-day Adventist Christian.

‘If you watch Two and a Half Men, please stop watching Two and a Half Men,’ Angus told Voice of Prophecy in 2012.
‘I’m on Two and a Half Men, and I don’t want to be on it. Please stop watching it, and filling your head with filth.’
Jones continued: ‘People will see us and be like, “I can be a Christian and be on a show like Two and a Half Men.” You can’t. You cannot be a true God-fearing person and be on a television show like that. I know I can’t.’
The self-described ‘paid hypocrite’ issued a formal apology the very next day for ‘showing indifference to and disrespect of my colleagues.’
In 2014, Angus finally quit The Odd Couple-inspired show, but he did return to shoot the 2015 finale in which his character announced he won $2.5M gambling in Las Vegas and married a Japanese woman after working as a chef for the US Army.
Jones left all faith-based ‘business-model’ organizations behind in 2016 and briefly worked for Justin Combs’ (Sean Combs’ son) production company Tonite Co. as well as studying the environment and Judaism at the University of Colorado at Boulder.
On November 30, the cousin of Danny Masterson reunited with former co-star Charlie Sheen to play himself on the first episode of Chuck Lorre’s comedy series Bookie, which Max renewed for a second season in January.

‘He’s doing great,’ Lorre told Variety at the time.
‘He’s a terrific guy. It’s an extraordinary thing. We started working together, he was eight years old. He’s a little boy, right? With just uncanny comedic instincts, without thinking. It was just in his DNA. And to work together again, 20 years later, we had fun. It was a wonderful afternoon. Everybody had the same reaction: “Oh my God. You’re a grown man!”‘
Fans can currently stream all 12 seasons of Two and a Half Men on Peacock and Max.
