Big Brother viewers were left seething during Monday night’s episode after ‘privileged’ Henry won £1,000 in a challenge, despite being ‘one of the wealthiest housemates’.
The food writer, 25, claimed the prize after winning the ‘ice cube’ challenge, which saw housemates use their mouths and hands to locate a key within a huge block of ice.
After some disturbing scenes in which they sucked on the ice cube from gruesome angles, Henry emerged victorious and unlocked the safe to win £1,000 in cash.
Speaking in the diary room after the challenge, Henry, who is continuing to flirt with his fellow housemate Jordan, said: ‘I’ve never worked so hard for £1,000 in my life.’
‘This is fabulous!’

A sight for sore eyes: Big Brother viewers were left seething during Monday night’s episode after ‘privileged’ Henry won £1,000 in the ice cube challenge

Victorious: Henry won the money but received criticism online for how he would chose to spend it
But although he initially considered using the prize for paying his rent (‘Rent in Kensington is not cheap!’), he soon went on to suggest more extravagant ways of splashing his newfound cash.
Henry speculated: ‘I’ve also gone down the route of just being stupid with it and spending it on a night at Claridge’s.
‘Then I would love a veal chop, cavolo nero, with some mashed potato, pomme puree, with some red wine jus, oh gosh, it could just be endless.’
Viewers were quick to criticise the decision to reward Henry, rather than to reward Trish, who has a young son, or Yinrun, who hopes to visit her family back in Shanghai.
They lashed out at the ‘privileged’ housemate on social media, taking to Twitter.

Happy: Henry said he would love to spend the prize fund on a luxurious veal chip

Challenge: Henry said he’d ‘never worked so hard’ for £1,000
One wrote: ‘Henry is ironically funny “there’s a cost of living crisis. Rent in Kensington is not cheap”’
Another sarcastically added: ‘Henry highlighting the tragic life of a Kensington socialite, he needs this thousand,’ while a third asked ‘Does Henry really need a grand though.’
Another commented on the irony of ‘henry winning the £1,000 when he’s one of the wealthiest housemates. ’
And others branded him ‘tone deaf’ and ‘delusional’.
Big Brother continues tomorrow at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
