‘The Colmans family have been so kind and supportive of me over the years – you couldn’t meet a more generous and deserving candidate for this award.

‘On my way to the event from London to South Shields, I wrote down a little something from the heart about how much it means to me to be a Sand Dancer.

‘I was very nervous as I don’t really enjoy public speaking but looking around the room I reminded myself I was surrounded by people I love and who got me to where I am today.

‘What an honour this was, with my family and friends all by my side – my only wish was that my grandparents and great aunt could have been there, all dressed up, celebrating together. Maybe they were.

‘Thank you to the Mayor of South Tyneside, Councillor Jay Potts, Tracey Dixon (leader of the Council) and all at @southtynesidecouncil who supported this decision.

‘If you see me walking my cattle around the town mind ya business. Much love, your Honorary Freewoman Of The Borough x’

Her award comes after she released a new single Church earlier this month, along with a quirky new music video set in the woods and graveyard.

The singer sent her fans wild with excitement last month as she announced the deluxe edition of her debut album, That’s Showbiz Baby! The Encore.

And fans did not have to wait long until the former Little Mix star dropped her powerhouse track Church.

Jade looked sensational in the video as she dressed up as a bride in a long white gown and carried a large bouquet of red flowers.

In the opening scenes, the hitmaker cut a gothic figure in a dramatic black outfit with huge shoulder pads and dark eye makeup streaming down her face as she sang, ‘Pray for me like I would pray for you’.

Jade slipped into a bold black and yellow spotted off-the-shoulder dress as she was joined by transgender TikTok star Bel Priestley and designer Daniel Lismore.

As each of her pals’ faces flashed up on screen, she sang: ‘It’s hard enough to be alive. Might as well dance or die’.

Elsewhere in the video, Jade was standing in the middle of a cult circle with Daniel as a number of dancers broke out into quirky dance moves.

The Angel Of My Dreams hitmaker slipped into a stylish cut-out trench coat as she walked through a woodland while dancers signed autographs, were chased in a car by photographers and did their hair and makeup in a light up mirror.

Moving onto the chorus, she sang: ‘While the world burns, let me see you work. Down on your knees, let me be your church’.

Bringing the video to a close, Jade wowed in a shredded white paper dress and a huge, dramatic, horned headpiece.

Her latest video was directed and co-written by Billy King and creatively directed and co-written by Maximilian Raynor.

The deluxe album, out today, features 8 additional songs, 7 new tracks including the powerful ‘Church’ and the socially conscious anthem ‘This Is What We Dance For’.

Jade has also released her highly praised cover of the Madonna classic ‘Frozen’, which is the grand finale of her debut album, THAT’S SHOWBIZ BABY!
