Married at First Sight’s Richard Sauerman unveils the unexpected co-star he relies on the most

Married At First Sight groom Richard Sauerman has revealed the one co-star he trusted the most.

Richard, 62, who was paired with Andrea Thompson, 51, on the experiment, revealed that fellow groom Jack Dunkley, 34, was his confidante.

‘The only person I trust from the show is Jack. Jack is solid. Jack did some and said some really bad s**t on the show and he owned it and he copped it and him and Tori had an absolute nightmare of a time,’ he told Yahoo Lifestyle.

‘He’s not going to be my best mate, but he’s a really, really solid guy and a good guy. I speak to Jack every week and anything I say to him doesn’t go to anybody else.’

Richard also added that certain cast members were leaking private text messages.

‘I was sending texts and things to Andie and I hear them being read out on podcasts… Like no, I’m not going to talk to you if you’re going to tell other people what I’ve said.’

‘You’ve got to talk to someone, so I talk to Jack. If I go to the Gold Coast I will for sure Jack and Tori and go out with them for dinner, 100 per cent.’

Richard and Andrea decided to go their separate ways in week six of the Channel Nine dating show.

Looking back at his journey on the program, Richard admitted there was one comment he wished he had never made.

He memorably shocked his co-stars with a racy remark about his sex life with Andrea during intimacy week.

‘I wouldn’t have said that “we kissed, we licked…” comment at the commitment ceremony during intimacy week,’ Richard told Woman’s Day of his regret.

His comments come after Andrea lifted the lid on her marriage to Richard behind closed doors after sensationally quitting the experiment in March.

Speaking exclusively to Daily Mail Australia, the photographer said she decided to end things with Richard because the couple’s constant fighting started to make her ‘feel crazy’.

She added that watching their arguments back on TV was ‘triggering’.

Despite the on-screen drama, Andrea insisted her feelings for Richard were genuine.

‘I never said I wasn’t into Richie. I’d always said ”I like you, I’m here, I’m trying”. But of course I would pull back when boundaries were crossed time and time again,’ she said.

Married at First Sight Groom Spills the Beans on the One Rule That Every Cast Member Broke: ‘It Seriously Bugged Me’

Married At First Sight groom Richard Sauerman has revealed that his fellow brides and grooms broke one rule on set consistently.

Richard, 62, revealed that cast members were forbidden from taking photos on their personal devices and were instead given production phones to take snaps.

But he realised later that he was the only one sticking to the directive.

‘The producers gave us a production phone and said, “Use this phone to take photographs and videos of your relationship. You can’t do it on your own phone”. So I did that,’ he told Yahoo.

Richard discovered much later that many other cast members were not adhering to the rule, while he was, which meant they had lots of spontaneous shots that could be used as mementos while he only had promotional ones.

‘Afterwards, I see all these posts going up with all the other couples about intimate moments and things clearly taken on another phone.

‘So everyone else had all these social media posts of them living their lives and stuff behind the scenes which Channel Nine are now happily posting and we were told not to do that.’

He said if he had known that he could simply take photos on his own device like other cast members then he would have done so in order to preserve precious memories.

‘I stuck by the rules and it just annoyed me. I would’ve done that differently and used my own phone, gone mad and taken lots of photos.’

Timothy was coupled up with Lucinda Light, 43, however, the pair both chose to leave at the final commitment ceremony.

Meanwhile, Natalie walked away from her relationship with Collins Christian, 28, in week two of the experiment.

Despite producers reportedly not wanting the cast at ‘gatherings’ before the final results of the show aired, a bevy of the show’s brides and grooms stepped out hours before the dinner party episode aired.

It was previously reported bosses were ‘prohibiting’ gatherings among the cast after a booze-fueled viewing party as it ‘leaves fans questioning how genuine they are with their search for love’.

The cast had been placed at different hotels by producers in Sydney to not ruin the ending prior the reunion which airs April 7 and 8 on Channel Nine.

Jono and Ellie walked into Sunday night’s reunion episode holding hands.

The other participants were stunned, none more than Jono’s former bride Lauren.

‘She blanked me. Like, girl, I didn’t do anything to you. Like… You’ve got my sloppy seconds,’ Lauren said.

‘You can say, like, hi to me. Like, I’ve got no issue with the girl but now I do, now it’s a problem. It’s just rude. So rude.’
