The View host Ana Navarro has been slammed by her followers and branded ‘privileged’ after sharing updates from her Christmas vacation in South Africa.
Ana, 51, wasted no time in jetting off with her husband Al Cárdenas last week as soon as the popular ABC daytime show went on a festive hiatus and told her fans on Instagram that she was off to ‘see this big, beautiful world’.
However, not everyone has been impressed with Ana’s regular updates and one person even accused her of ‘throwing’ the holiday in their ‘face’ while another told her: ‘Keep it to yourself.’
On Sunday, Ana shared various photos and videos from her time in South Africa with Al, 75, and praised the culture for their ‘sounds, colors and tribes’, but while many compliment Ana for her ‘beautiful’ pictures, other did not hold back.

Some people accused Ana of acting ‘privileged’ and claimed that she was ‘throwing’ the holiday in their faces
‘Must be nice to do all you do and then mash it in our face? We barely have enough to survive and your just throwing in our face!!!! (sic), one person fumed.
‘Say you’re privileged without saying you’re privileged…… hypocrisy much???!!!’ another Instagram user wrote.
‘Really Ana keep it to yourself you think others like seeing what they can never in their lifetime do that!!! Do you pay forward????? I use to like you on the view don’t think so now. None of the others do this (sic),’ a third person claimed.
Someone else admitted: ‘She’s very fortunate for sure but I enjoy what I will never see.’
However, others were quick to defend the brunette TV star as one person wrote: ‘I love that you share your travels with us and that you teach those that don’t know the history of the places you visit.’
And another said: ‘You are on my dream vacation, enjoy,’ and a third commented: ‘Thank you for sharing this with us!! This trip is on my Bucket List.’
Ana also left her followers divided with some comments she made about zoos in Africa after she spent the weekend getting to watch animals in the wild.
Alongside some photos of their trip into the wild, she wrote: ‘About today. There is something magical about seeing animals in the wild. Every time I come to Africa, I fall in love again.

‘Since the first time I visited, I have never gone to a zoo. Just can’t stand wild animals in captivity. It’s so sad. And I have such disdain for those people with small brains, small hearts, and small weenies who think hunting these animals is some sort of macho sport, or who kill then for their skins, tusks, horns. Just horrible.’
She continued: ‘I’d love to see them take on a lion or an elephant without a gun. My money is on the lion. We must protect these animals and their habitats. We owe it to the future generations.
‘PS- I’m sure bird people know, that bird is called a Secretariat. It hunts snakes. It is fascinating and apparently, not easy to see in wild. I could watch it all day,’ she added, referring to a video she shared.
While many did stand with her views, one particular person wrote: ‘Have a great trip. I agree with everything but the zoo comment. Good zoos perform an amazing service to educate, help raise awareness of our environment and endangered creatures and to help foster the prevention of extinction of many species through thoughtful supported breeding programs.
‘A good zoo is a good thing. If humans weren’t so demanding and awful, there’d be more free roaming beasts and maybe we wouldn’t need zoos… but that’s an if we’ll never see,’ one added.
Another person bluntly suggested: ‘Maybe try Veganuary. If you love animals so much – don’t eat them. Instead of visiting Africa, visit a slaughterhouse.’
The social media backlash comes after Meghan McCain threatened legal action against Ana and her co-hosts on The View following comments they made live on air earlier this month.
The pundit, who is the daughter of late Arizona Senator John McCain, threatened to do so after the hosts drew a comparison between her and Hunter Biden.
Ana implied a connection between the embattled Hunter Biden and Meghan McCain during the December 14 episode of The View
Meghan took to X, formerly Twitter, to slam the comments and threatened legal action against Ana and her co-stars
‘I don’t understand why my former colleagues bring me up and slander me on an almost weekly basis,’ the columnist wrote in a post on X, formerly Twitter, adding: ‘It has been years – move on, I have.
‘I have never been accused of a crime in my life and am a patriotic American – I would never and have never ‘influenced peddled’ in my life, let alone with foreign adversaries.
Meghan was responding to comments made by her former co-host Ana during a segment about Hunter Biden’s federal tax case and the impact on his father, President Joe Biden.
Ana said on Thursday’s show that Hunter Biden is not the only person in Washington to ‘influence peddle on his last name,’ adding: ‘People sitting at this table did it.’
This prompted co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin to ask who Navarro was referring to, before she clarified she had been talking about previous hosts. McCain appeared on The View between 2017 and 2021.
Alyssa added: ‘We just wanted to clear our names,’ while her colleague Sara Haines joked: Oh my God! Do I have a claim to fame that I’m not using?’
Meghan took to X to hit out at the comments, saying: ‘Not all politicians children are the same – and I am no Hunter Biden. All accusations are absurd, defamatory and slanderous.’
She followed the post with another that read: ‘The View is an ABC News program. I do not take it lightly when any news program suggests I engage in criminal behavior, especially as a former employee of ABC News.’
