Amy Sheppard Expecting First Child After IVF Journey

Amy Sheppard is expecting her first child after an emotional three-year IVF battle.

The singer, 34, and her husband Lachlan Stuart took to Instagram on Wednesday to announce the happy news to Amy’s 90,000 followers.

They shared a montage clip that began with an image of an ornate side table adorned with two coffee cups and a baby’s bottle.

The heartwarming clip also featured the couple holding hands and strolling through a garden scene while Amy cradled her growing baby bump.

The pair were also seen kissing under a leafy canopy, clearly over the moon with their joyful news.

Captioning the video, Amy revealed that she and Lachlan will become proud parents in February.

‘It’s darkest right before the dawn and we are beyond overjoyed to announce that the sun has finally come out for us. Stuart Little will be arriving February 2026,’ she wrote.

She added that her road to pregnancy had been hard-fought and was quick to praise doctors for making it possible.

‘After years of waiting, yearning, and heartbreak, with the help of science and some truly incredible doctors and nurses, we’ve been blessed with the most precious gift,’ Amy continued.

‘Thank you to everyone who kept us in your thoughts and lifted us up during some of our toughest times – your love and support meant more than you could ever know.’

Amy also sympathised with couples who were still having difficulty conceiving.

‘We also understand that pregnancy announcements can be painful for some, and our hearts are with those still waiting,’ she said.

‘Please know we’re holding you close in our thoughts, and though this news may be bittersweet, we hope it brings even a small spark of hope or light to what might feel like a dark place.’

Amy, who is a founding member of indie pop band Sheppard, has been open in documenting her IVF journey on social media.

‘It’s a silent ache for a dream that feels just out of reach,’ she admitted on Instagram back in May.

‘The shame, the judgment, the endless questions – it’s a weight so many carry in silence.’

Also in May, Amy revealed her heartbreak after the couple learned that a planned embryo transfer had failed.

In an emotional TikTok, Amy revealed that she received the news right before having to walk on stage to perform.

'It¿s darkest right before the dawn and we are beyond overjoyed to announce that the sun has finally come out for us. Stuart Little will be arriving February 2026,' she wrote

‘Two and a half years of doing everything right. Of hoping, trying, sacrificing. And still, our first frozen embryo transfer failed. It was our only one,’ she said.

‘We found out, I said goodbye to Lachie, cried in a bathroom stall, then walked onto a stage in front of a thousand people, giving them the most unforgettable night of their lives while experiencing an unforgettable heartbreak of my own.’

Broken but unbowed, Amy added that she and Lachie were steadfast in their quest to conceive.

‘That’s the strange thing about this journey…joy and sorrow can exist in the same moment,’ she said.

‘We don’t get to choose the timing, but we do get to choose to keep going. And until then, I’ll keep showing up.

‘For the music and for the dream of stepping onto a stage with a full heart—and having a little one waiting in the wings.’

Amy tied the knot with Stuart in October 2021 at a beachfront ceremony at Paradise Cove, Airlie Beach.
