A woman was left shaken after witnessing a male retail worker ‘condescend’ and ‘dismiss’ his female co-worker earlier this month.
Amy Dickinson visited an interior design store to return an item when a female employee who was trying to help her was allegedly ‘shushed’ by her male counterpart as he put his hand up to her mouth.
Once a victim of domestic violence at the hands of a former partner, Amy went viral on TikTok when she decided to stand up for the woman and call the man ‘rude’ as she filmed the aftermath of the altercation.
‘I just want to say, the way that you shushed your female employer was so rude,’ Amy told the man as she visibly shook with anger.
She then turned to the woman and said: ‘I didn’t appreciate seeing that and I hope he doesn’t treat you like that all the time.’

While it’s unclear exactly what the man said to Amy in response, he could at one point apologising to her for his behaviour.
The video begins and ends with Amy scolding the male worker, but she told Yahoo Lifestyle there was more in the lead up to the story.
She said there was immediately something off about the way the man spoke to his ‘possibly new’ colleague as the woman attempted to help Amy.

But the final straw came when the man ‘put his hand up to her mouth’ and told her to ‘shush’ as the female worker attempted to explain the return process.
Amy said she was trying to tell the woman she wasn’t sure if she had the right receipt for the return, to which the woman tried to say: ‘Even if it’s not the right receipt we should be able to find you in the…’
It was then the man allegedly cut his female colleague off by trying to silence her.
Viewers flocked to the comments of the viral video to praise Amy for her courage, with one person writing: ‘This probably meant the world to her. Thank you for speaking up!’
Astonished by the belittlement, Amy attempted to calm herself and finish the transaction before she unleashed on the male worker.
