A year before American Pickers alum Frank Fritz died, aged 60, on September 30 – his attorney filed a ‘will prior to death’ to ‘safe-keep’ the document, which was approved by an Iowa judge on October 18.
But on December 30, an attorney for an unnamed female friend of the antique collector entered his appearance in the sealed case on her behalf – according to The U.S. Sun.
Then a third attorney filed a petition in probate last week to ‘set aside will and jury demand’ aka challenge Frank’s original will.
Fritz’s alleged $6M in assets includes his motorcycle collection, antique store Frank Fritz Finds in Savanna, IL; and his $155K farmhouse in Davenport, IA.
The Iowa native famously left American Pickers in 2020 to undergo back surgery, and then he suffered a stroke in 2022 as a result of cerebral vascular disease.

Weeks later, Frank was placed under a conservatorship by MidWestOne Bank with his friend Chris Davis listed as his guardian due to the ‘impairment of his decision-making capacity.’
Fritz’s friend Jerry Gendreau – who’s planning an auction for his belongings – previously told the outlet he was ‘totally bedridden’ and had ‘lost the will to live.’
‘I’ve seen this when people get tired, they get tired. I think if you don’t have the will to live, you won’t,’ Gendreau explained.
‘I think Frank could’ve lived a lot longer if the will to live would’ve been there.’
The History Channel star had suffered from aortic stenosis, COPD, and Crohn’s disease before finally succumbing to the effects of his stroke at a Midwestern hospice facility.
Frank had reportedly been estranged from his co-host Mike Wolfe from 2021-2023, but he ‘felt blessed’ to be by his side as he ‘took one last journey home.’
The 60-year-old presenter is currently filming season 27 of American Pickers alongside Fritz’s replacements Robbie Wolfe and Jon ‘Jersey Jon’ Szalay.
A big celebration of Frank’s life involving fans will take place this spring in Iowa, and there’s already ‘several bands who want to play it.’
