Amelia Gray Rinna Denies Promoting Anorexia After Skeletal Concerns

Amelia Gray Hamlin has denied she promoted anorexia when she posted an Instagram slideshow last Friday featuring a nude beach snap showcasing her skeletal 5ft9in figure.

The 24-year-old nepo baby of Lisa Rinna’s ribcage and shoulder bones were also sticking out as she posed in a red bikini, and many of her 1.7M followers were aghast.

Instagram user @eleanormaybeesley commented: ‘Not to body shame girl but you look like you may need some help.’

‘Girl these photos are not cute. You got some issues you need to address,’ Instagram user @laurenm_79 agreed. ‘Not hating but clearly there is a problem here.’

Instagram user @nicolecarter7081 wrote: ‘When “body positivity” means overlooking eating disorders we need to reevaluate. It is mental. Not physical.’

‘The protruding ribs are kinda gross,’ Instagram user @ldalora127 commented.

Instagram user @heintzy009 wrote: ‘Eating disorder. Get help.’

‘Picture 5 is the reason girls throw up,’ Instagram user @dezzi_dez143 commented.

‘Lisa passed her disorders right down. And save the cap. This is not her shape. She’s starving.’

Amelia responded by Instastorying past videos of herself eating bagels, a burger, and an enchilada, gushing: ‘I literally live to eat. I don’t eat to live, LOL!’

‘Never have I ever supported anorexia and or did I mean to ever make anyone feel that way,’ Hamlin claimed.

‘My journey and goal on this Earth is to inspire and spread love. At a young age I came out about struggling in the past – I have worked very hard to heal. And I have.’

The Lions Management Model explained: ‘I’m posting these to help inspire and heal. Not to prove that I eat. I take videos of my food experiences cause they make me so happy. Never to prove.

‘I just want young girls to feel safe in a way I wasn’t made to feel when I was young and alone on social media. [Okay] love you bye.’

Amelia ‘deeply apologized’ if she made her fans ‘feel any other way.’

‘My body has become accustomed to the way it consumes and I work very hard to keep a healthy physique. I love food!’ Hamlin stressed.

‘Love you guys. Please spread love [and] light. Commenting on people’s bodies in any way is none of your business. It adds to the problem that already exists in society. This is my body and I was born with it.’

The Stella McCartney Elyse brand ambassador was clearly downplaying her eating disorder, which led to her receiving treatment at UCLA at the tender age of 14.

‘[The doctor] looked at me and he was like, “So, yeah, basically at this rate in about four months, you’re gonna be 45 pounds, and you’re gonna be dead,”‘ Amelia recalled on The Skinny Confidential Him and Her podcast in 2020.

‘I immediately gained 50 pounds in six months [during recovery] and, to be honest, I was still starving myself. The first three months.’

In 2019, Hamlin admitted that had she not come out about her eating disorder in 2018, she ‘probably would have relapsed’ and that her anorexia led to being diagnosed with the autoimmune disease Hashimoto’s disease.

‘My body was reacting to being starved for so long,’ the Willy Chavarria SS/26 catwalker told Glamour.

‘With Hashimoto’s I’m going to have to take two pills every single morning as soon as I wake up, maybe for the rest of my life. Obviously that’s not the worst thing in the world, but it’s hard knowing I did this to myself.’

The 62-year-old Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum and her husband of 28 years – L.A. Law alum Harry Hamlin – are also proud parents of 27-year-old daughter Delilah Belle Hamlin.
