Strictly’s Amber Davies has finally set the record straight on her close bond with her pro dance partner Nikita Kuzmin.
The former Love Island star, 29, and 27-year-old Ukrainian pro set tongues wagging with the Strictly curse when photos emerged of Nikita kissing Amber on top of her head during a rehearsal break.
However, Amber – who has been in a relationship with West End actor Ben Joyce for three years – is keen to reveal what exactly has been going on.
Nikita, meanwhile, has been dating model Lauren Jaine, 23, for two years.
In a new interview, Amber stressed that her relationship with the dancer is purely platonic, explaining that despite their chemistry on the dance floor, it’s just part of the performance.
She told The Sun: ‘I cannot give it any more breath. Strictly is a less intense environment to what I’m used to on stage.

When asked about the infamous Strictly curse, she replied: ‘It’s nonsense,’ adding that she’s good friends with Nikita’s girlfriend.
In the wake of her intimate snaps with Nikita, sources close to Amber reacted to the images, telling the Daily Mail that any suggestion she has fallen victim to the show’s ‘curse’ is nonsense.
A source close to Amber told the Daily Mail: ‘Everyone thought Amber would be panicked and worried about being in the dance-off, but that’s not the case.
‘She was not surprised to be there at all. With Strictly it’s an entertainment show, it’s anyone’s game. She actually had a feeling on Saturday that it would be her time in the bottom two.
‘But she’s going into this week feeling positive. There’s no concern or panic from her at all, and she’s still really enjoying her Strictly experience.’
They added: ‘It’s ridiculous for anyone to believe there’s anything going on between Amber and Nikita.
‘The pictures didn’t affect them at all because they know the truth. Amber was unfazed by it.’

Nikita has hammered home that there is no funny business as he was seen kissing Ben on the head at the Strictly studios on Saturday.
In a post shared by Amber on her Instagram Story as she asked fans to vote, Nikita held Ben’s head with both hands as he planted a kiss on his head.
Then on Sunday, Amber showed off her beau yet again as she shared a snap of him kissing her on the cheek after the show.
She wrote: ‘I couldn’t do any of this without you by my side @benj0yce. Thank you for going above and beyond every single day, picking me up when I’m down and being the loudest cheerleader when we celebrate.
‘Always dinner on the table after rehearsals & extra plasters ready when my feet need them.
