Lindsay's hard-partying ways became infamous, with two arrests and accusations of drug use and theft, yet Amanda said: 'The outsized bashing is ugly. It’s like, a fear of mine. I would not want to be spotlit for being infamous in any way.'

Amanda even revealed she was on the brink of dabbling in drugs, saying: 'My 20s were ridiculous. I found myself at many places....

'I also remember there was a time I could have done cocaine for the first time at the Chateau [Marmont], and I didn’t because I was scared...

'And so there was a limit to how much partying I was going to do, because I only wanted to be so drunk that I could [still] get myself home.'

Despite her fears, she confessed she did have her wild times, even revealing she partied in the pool at the late Val Kilmer's house with her Mean Girls co-stars Daniel Franzese and Jonathan Bennett, who played Damian and Aaron respectively.

She said: 'I mean, did I go clubbing? Yeah. Did I find myself at Val Kilmer’s house one night at 1am with [Mean Girls co-stars] Daniel Franzese and Jonathan Bennett?...

'Did I find myself there with them in the pool? I was 18 and I had just moved to LA and we had gone to a screening of Reefer Madness. I was at Val Kilmer’s house – I don’t even remember meeting him, but I was at his house.'

As well as supporting Lindsay, she also discussed the backlash surrounding Sydney Sweeney’s American Eagle campaign while promoting their film The Housemaid.

She said: 'We had a great time on the press tour...

'We worked really hard and she seemed to be having fun, but I also understood that probably it can’t be f*cking easy, where she found herself… I have heard her stand up for herself, but I think she found herself between a rock and a hard place.”

She looked incredible in a farm-themed cover shoot

On how she supported Sydney, she said: 'I’m just there. I don’t talk to her about it unless she wants to talk about it. I don’t want to be a source of anything, but whatever you need. You need some fun, you need to laugh, you need cake with me?'

'That’s fine… at the same time, I’m like, ‘We’ve got to promote this movie and I can be a safe space."'

Having distanced herself from the party scene, Amanda spoke to the publication about her 50-acre farm and 1930s house, which is a two-hour drive from Manhattan.

She said: 'No one would know there was a farm on this road. This is private; there’s woods; I feel so protected.'

She has a slew of animals at her farm and her goat, Brownie, sheds an endless supply of cashmere: Every day he has more cashmere for me. Look at it! Look at all this cashmere!'
