Amanda Kloots has revealed the shocking financial toll of her late husband Nick Cordero’s 95-day hospitalization – before his death in July 2020.
Actor Cordero passed away aged just 41 after being diagnosed with COVID-19 – having first been hospitalized in March 2020 with pneumonia.
He was placed into a medically-induced coma as his condition worsened and his right leg amputated in April 2020 due to a blood clot but he tragically died with Amanda by his side on July 5.
During an appearance on the June 11 episode of SoFi’s Richer Lives podcast, Kloots opened up about the cost to keep her husband alive as he battled for his life.
She said: ‘Nick was in the hospital for 95 days, his whole body was being run by machines. The ventilator alone was $3,000 a day… on top of the 20 other machines that were running his body.

During an appearance on the June 11 episode of SoFi’s Richer Lives podcast, Kloots opened up about the cost to keep her husband alive as he battled for his life (seen on Theresa Caputo: Raising Spirits: Spirit to the Stars)
‘When I heard that, I immediately was like, “What am I going to do”’ So you can imagine what the total bill was.’
‘I never thought I was going to lose my husband. Up until the day he passed away, I really thought we were going to make it. So I don’t think the financial magnitude really really hit me until he passed away and calls were coming in…Unfortunately death is a business.
‘My medical bill for Nick came almost a year and a half later. I got a huge medical bill. Surprise!’
Kloots said the pair had never discussed death or what would happen if one of them passed away, saying: Because you think you’re invincible,” the television personality said. “You’re in your 40s. You’re like, “Nothing’s gonna happen to us. We’re fine. We’ve got time.” We were just starting our lives.’
The pair welcomed son Elvis in June 2019 – 13 months before Cordero’s shock death.
She documented Nick’s health struggle and death from COVID-19 on Instagram and since his passing has been raising Elvis in Los Angeles.
Amanda and Nick met in 2014 while working on the musical Bullets Over Broadway in New York City.
They got married in September 2017 and surprised their wedding guests with an epic surprise dance and were together until his death in 2020.
Amanda, a former member of the Rockettes dance company, competed on season 30 of Dancing With The Stars and finished in fourth place with pro partner Alan Bersten, 30.

She became a permanent co-host in 2021 of the daytime talk show The Talk after appearing as a guest co-host in 2020.
CBS announced in April that the 15th season of The Talk will be its last and the show will conclude in December.
Amanda in 2020 launched a digital fitness brand that features her leading exercise videos.
She released a memoir in June 2021 titled Live Your Life.
