Laryngeal cancer is a type of cancer that affects the larynx (voice box).
After undergoing three life-changing surgeries and being told he had ‘a one in six chance he might not be able to talk again’, Jamie revealed last week that he was free from the disease and would be back on the radio full-time.
As he began work on Monday morning with his co-host Amanda, Jamie said: ‘Thanks to everyone for making this morning feel very, very special. Thanks for your (the listeners’) messages as well.’
Amanda then added: ‘We are so happy to welcome him back!’
To which Jamie said back: ‘Four months I have waited for this moment!’ as Amanda said: ‘It feels longer it feels more like five months.’

The lavish treat was described by Amanda in a separate story as a ‘drunk Barbie cake’ and showed the doll doing the splits atop a pink layer of icing with candles reading ’19’ on it.
The large cake was covered in various fondant models, which depicted bottles of famous tequila brands.
Amanda added the caption: ‘Our gorgeous girl turns 19 today!! Lexi we love you so much. Super proud of you and all the choices you are making. Our shy, wise, funny talented girl. Love Mummy Daddy and Hollie xx Have the happiest day.’
The Heart FM presenter shared a separate story showing the cake in more detail and Lexi handing out plates for her pals to have a portion.

It came after Amanda proudly revealed Lexi passed her A-Levels, landing her a spot at her first choice of university.
She wrote on Instagram: ‘Congratulations to our @lexi.hughes__ we couldn’t be prouder. All the grades and 1st choice uni what a bl**dy relief.’

Last year, Lexi was suddenly rushed to hospital after contracting E.coli.
While discussing the warning signs to look out for amid the latest outbreak, Amanda revealed to The Sun that her daughter Lexi had been suffering from bloating and stomach cramps.
She said: ‘For about three weeks, Lexi had been complaining of bloating and stomach cramps. She was not happy at all and in quite a lot of pain with her tummy.
‘It was around the time of revision and her A-levels, so I was just putting this down to exam stress.’

However, Amanda admitted that after taking her daughter to her GP, who insisted on her doing some blood and stool samples, the results came back as a bacterial infection.
The star then revealed that while she was filming in Spain, she began to get calls from various government officials asking her to fill out several forms about where her daughter might have eaten and what kind of food they had stored in their home.
Stating that the cultures come back, Amanda revealed that Lexi has VTEC E. coli, which is a very harmful strain of bacteria that’s very rare in humans.
