Amanda Holden has hit out at ‘unfair’ claims that her daughter Lexi is a nepo baby.
The Britain’s Got Talent judge, 54, has insisted that her eldest child’s success is down to her own hard work.
While Lexi, 19, has appeared alongside her mother on red carpets, Amanda has taken no accountability for her daughter’s model status.
She explained all parents want their children to do well but it will be Lexi’s abilities and hard work which will grant her long-term success.
She told the Radio Times of Lexi’s contract with agency Storm: ‘Yes, she’s related to me, but that’s nothing to do with me.
‘The word ‘nepo’ can be thrown around forever, but it’s unfair it’s been used in showbiz.

‘When I was young, I got a job in a fruit and veg shop as my mum knew the guy.
‘If you know someone can help your child get in somewhere, you’ll do whatever.’
Amanda is a mother to two children, Lexi and Hollie, 13, who she shares with her showbiz agent husband, Chris Hughes, 51.
Lexi completed her A-levels last year and is now at university but Amanda has insisted that helping her daughter get a foot in the door does not mean guaranteed success.
She said: ‘They have to have talent and backbone, and work to succeed.
‘I’m proud of my daughter, doing stuff for Storm as well as two normal jobs while at uni.
‘She’s not going to come out with a debt — that’s amazing.’
Amanda’s lookalike daughter Lexi has followed in her famous mother’s footsteps by venturing into the world of bikini modelling too and she regularly supports her campaigns.
In July, Amanda took to Instagram to gush over her daughter’s new photo shoot with swimwear brand Naia Beach.

Lexi could be seen sporting an array of swimwear in the snaps, including a gold ruched bandeau swimsuit and a blue thick-strap bikini.
Another snap showed Lexi sporting a plunging teal zip-up swimsuit as she posed during the shoot.
‘So proud of our pretty little baby @lexi.hughes__ first shoot wearing @naia_beach .. enjoy the sunshine ☀️,’ Amanda wrote.
Lexi’s shoot comes just months after her mother Amanda modelled for the brand back in April, showing off her abs in a floral two-piece.
