Alyssa Milano faces criticism for starting GoFundMe for son’s baseball trip as fans question why she needs the money despite her wealth and Hollywood connections

Alyssa Milano was mercilessly trolled this week for sharing a GoFundMe soliciting donations for her 12-year-old son’s baseball team trip.

She set up the GoFundMe page herself under her married name and then shared it to her account on X, formerly known as Twitter.

The star is reportedly worth $10M and she is married to David Bugliari, who is a talent agent in Hollywood.

Writing that her son Milo’s 12U team is ‘diverse, hardworking and really good,’ she noted: ‘Your donation will go to travel costs, uniforms, and dues for families.’

She added: ‘We also might use your donations for pins or novelty items to make our tournaments memorable experiences beyond the field.’

Social media commentators quickly started raking her over the coals, wondering why a famous actress would feel the need to ask for money from normal people.

The Charmed star’s husband Dave Bugliari is a successful talent agent who used to be a head of the motion picture department at CAA.

Alyssa and Dave married in 2009, and in addition to their 12-year-old son Milo, they also have a nine-year-old daughter called Elizabella.

She posted the GoFundMe to X Thursday, writing: ‘My son’s baseball team is raising money for their Cooperstown trip. Any amount would be so greatly appreciated.’

Criticism promptly began pouring in, including from one X user who assumed: ‘I’m sure she’s getting residuals as we speak.’

‘Why isn’t Alyssa Milano paying for the trip for the whole team herself?’ marveled another. ‘Why is she asking for money from people who can barely buy groceries.’

Another incredulous social media user wondered: ‘Do rich people really just completely lose touch with reality. She has people living pay check to pay check pitching in for her son. WTF has happened to us.’

‘You’re a rich actress in Hollywood and you’re begging for money for your kid?’ snapped an X user. ‘Pay for it yourself you miserable t***.’

‘#AlyssaMilano would like to know if people could also donate to pay for her toilet paper and possibly her snacks,’ cracked another.

Still one more X user wrote: ‘Alyssa Milano when it’s time to pay the bill,’ with a gif of Chris Rock joking onstage: ‘I identify as poor.’

Alyssa had her defenders as well, such as one who wrote: ‘Why would the other parents expect her to pay for all the team stuff? The kids need to raise the money, she thought she was helping.’

Incidentally, Alyssa does not appear among the named donors on the GoFundMe page, though a number of the donations were anonymous.

In a nod to that detail, one wag made a $5 donation to the baseball trip under the screen name DoesntAlyssa HaveEnoughMoney.

The GoFundMe was set up with a $10,000 goal, of which more than $7,000 had been raised by Friday morning, the day after Alyssa’s controversial tweet.

Alyssa, the celebrity who popularized Tarana Burke’s slogan ‘Me Too’ in Hollywood, is frequently ridiculed online for her left-wing political interventions.
