Allison Langdon was reduced to tears during the 2024 Logie Awards on Sunday.
The veteran TV presenter, 45, won the Silver Logie for Best News or Public Affairs Presenter, beating out the ABC’s David Speers and Sarah Ferguson, Channel Nine’s Liz Hayes and Peter Overton and Seven’s Michael Usher.
It proved to be an overwhelming moment for the host of A Current Affair as she took to the stage to receive the award.
‘When you hear all [the nominees], you definitely don’t expect yours to be the one called out,’ she began.
‘Everything we do is with heart and soul. If a story doesn’t have heart and soul, we just don’t do it,’ she continued.
‘I look at those who’ve sat in this chair before me, right back to my father-in-law [Michael Willesee] who started this show.
‘It would be wonderful if he could have seen the family connection and where that played out.
Langdon, who stepped into the role following Tracy Grimshaw’s dramatic departure in 2022, went on to share her love for her predecessor.

‘To Trace who I love, she’s the one who always said the people who don’t like our show, don’t know our show.
‘To Mike Munro, Ray Martin, and everyone who has been in this roll, thank you.’
Earlier this year Langdon revealed what the future might hold when she decides to move on from the job.
Speaking to Bradley J Dryburgh on his A Lot To Talk About podcast, Ally revealed she might go back to university and start a whole new career path after ACA.

When asked about her future plans, she shared: ‘I think sail off into the sunset and do something entirely different.’
‘Go back to uni, start something entirely different, entirely new,’ she excitedly added.
Before her stint hosting ACA, Ally was a regular fixture on the Today show but had a shock hydrofoiling accident in February 2021 while filming a water sports segment.
After the accident, Ally was pulled from the water by her life vest as two male rescuers were seen leaping in to help her.
She was taken to hospital where she received treatment, before flying back to Sydney for an operation on her knee.
Three years on from the accident, Ally appears to still suffer from the injury.
Langdon is married to Michael Willesee Jnr, the son of former ACA host Mike Willesee. The couple share a son and a daughter.
