In December, a Who’s Who of Sydney’s society A-list turned out to celebrate the wedding of The Skin Bar founder Samantha Appel and her fiancé Matt Saville.

The newlyweds celebrated their nuptials with an elegant black-tie soirée at Catalina Restaurant in Rose Bay.

The glittering guests watched on as Samantha walked down the aisle in a strapless, custom-designed gown by Shehzarin Batha Couture.

She paired her dramatic frock with classic Chanel heels, completing a silhouette that drew admiration from all corners of the room.

‘Sam’s wedding ensemble was truly the kind of project I live for as a couturier – an extravagant, expressive and exquisitely crafted reflection of self,’ designer Shehzarin Batha told the Daily Mail.

‘From the iconic decadence of our hand-trimmed taffeta skirt to the intricately laced bespoke corset and meticulously draped neckline, every detail was considered with intention.

‘No element was overlooked – from sourcing sumptuous satin gloves from London to developing a dashing ladies’ riding hat: a delicious remnant of 18th-century splendour, festooned with ostrich feathers and moulded from a single piece of velvet, every stitch hand-sewn.’

The biggest names in the eastern suburbs turned out for the breathtaking ceremony, including hospitality construction firm boss Joshua Clapp and his model girlfriend Simone Holtznagel.

Other notable guests included influencer Sammy Robinson, creative director Mikey Nolan, Ksubi co-founder Dan Single, and fashion model Charlie Austin.

Coincidentally, both Clapp and Single are former partners of P.E Nation founder Pip Edwards – and a guest revealed she had other exes in attendance too.

Other esteemed guests included Josh Morris, celebrated plastic surgeon Dr Kelly Thornbury, real estate powerhouse Belinda Bartholomew-Walsh, the Faders DJ Milena Gattegno and Bartiga co-owner Charlie Kelly.

The couple’s longtime friends Beau Ryan and wife Kara were also in attendance, with the Triple M Sydney presenter serving as the MC.

Beau delighted attendees with banter that deftly trod the line between sharp humour and warmth, punctuated with poignant stories about the newlyweds.

For the evening’s festivities, Samantha changed into a sleek second look from The New Trend, styled by Diana Lewes, and paired it with Jimmy Choo heels.

Following the formalities, guests were treated to an intimate, powerful outdoor performance by celebrated opera singer Catherine Bouchier.

Her dramatic stage presence was amplified by a dazzling fireworks display over Rose Bay.

The celebrations continued well into the night as guests danced to The Mark Fields Band, before Single took over the decks for a late-night DJ set that kept the energy high.

A who’s who of Sydney’s Jewish high society turned out for the show-stopping nuptials of eastern suburbs glamour couple Jerome Srot and Cecilia Summer.

The couple wed in a traditional and elegant ceremony at their spiritual home of Central Synagogue in Bondi Junction in April.

The bride wore a demure gown by an Israeli designer, which featured draped shoulder detailing and a floor-length skirt, accessorised with a diamond necklace and matching earrings.

The elite guest list included celebrity lawyer Bryan Wrench, who donned his signature double-breasted suit for the occasion – a look he’s often seen sporting in court.

The ‘colourful Sydney identity’ box was ticked by the bouffant-haired Fadi Ibrahim and his glamorous wife Shayda.

Fadi’s attendance came after he avoided jail last June when a NSW judge ruled he had not knowingly possessed $600,000 in suspected proceeds of crime.

The real stars – apart from the bride and groom – were the major property players and Luxe Listings Sydney cast who attended: TRG founder Gavin Rubinstein, buyer’s agent Simon Cohen, Costi Cohen general manager Shani Costi, and TRG business manager Remi Lindsay.

Rubinstein attended solo, following Daily Mail Australia’s confirmation of his split from model girlfriend Holly Young.

Rubinstein has since moved on with former Made in Chelsea star Ruby Adler and the Daily Mail reported a proposal may be on the cards – perhaps a wedding for our 2026 list?

The wedding and its reception, held at the same synagogue, also played host to a handful of famous names in the medical and cosmetic world, including Woollahra plastic surgeon Dr Shahram Shahidi, Laser Clinics Australia co-founder Babak Moini, and Q-Tox salon owner Kian Moini.

One of the guests, Dana Giufre, flirted with danger on the big day by wearing a yellow $780 gown by Paco Rabanne which, in the light, looked awfully close to bridal white.

Dior’s VIP client manager Marc James, who is at the beck and call of many a Sydney housewife, was also spotted turning heads among the well-heeled crowd.

More than 150 friends and family celebrated the couple’s special day.
