Alison Hammond has hit back at her critics who claim she shouldn’t be hosting For The Love Of Dogs this week.
The former Big Brother star turned TV presenter, 50, has fronted the fan-favourite series ever since Paul O’Grady’s shock death in 2023.
Paul, who was aged 67, died as a result of cardiac arrhythmia and was said to have been smoking a cannabis joint when he passed peacefully at his home.
Alison has hosted two series of the show, which follows the staff and furry animals of Battersea Dogs And Cats Home.
However, she has faced cruel trolling and continuous calls for her to be axed from the show.
Now, in a new interview, Alison hit back at her critics and told them to ‘deal with’ the fact she is the host and not Pete Wicks, who hosts a similar show for UKTV.

Speaking to The Guardian, the Birmingham native said: ‘People say Pete Wicks would be better than me at presenting For the Love of Dogs.
‘He might be but I’m doing it. Deal with it! I know my worth. Besides, my mum would have been so proud.
‘That’s the reason I do this. She’s my guiding light.’
Alison added to the publication that she has been ‘doing a job that I adore to the best of my ability, trying to be better than I was yesterday.’
Her comments come as the future of the show is still yet to be revealed, with ITV still to confirm if Alison will be back for a third series.
