Alex Fevola has revealed what really happened at the Caulfield Cup after she was pictured in the midst of a seemingly tense moment with partner Brendan.

In exclusive photos published by Daily Mail Australia, the makeup artist, 46, put on an animated display, gesturing with her hands as she spoke to her husband at the racing event in Melbourne.

Alex, 46, insisted on Fifi, Fev & Nick’s breakfast radio show on Thursday she wasn’t having an argument with Brendan.

‘I was so animated because I was so excited as the security guard had actually asked [daughter] Mia and I for ID bands and I said to him “I’m her mother”,’ she explained.

‘I was relaying this story to Brendan. There was no argument.’

Alex and Brendan attended the racing carnival event with their model daughter Mia, 23, and her new boyfriend Bass Miller.

The makeup artist looked glamorous in a white lace frock as she joined the NRL star, who wore pale blue suit pants.

Meanwhile, Mia dared to bare in a mini dress, white fascinator and matching heels, while her high school sweetheart looked debonair in a white suit and midnight blue shirt.

Brendan and makeup artist Alex married in 2005 but divorced in 2014.

Their separation was short-lived however, with the pair reuniting later that same year, before getting engaged in 2016.

Shortly after being crowned the winner of the 2016 season of I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, Brendan proposed to Alex – for the second time – in front of their children.

Brendan adopted Mia after marrying her mother in 2005 and the couple are proud parents to three other daughters, Leni, 12, Lulu, eight, Tobi, two.

At the time, Brendan told radio host Dave Thornton on the Fifi and Dave show: ‘I was a bit nervous, I didn’t think she’d say yes.’

‘Because we’ve been married before and obviously been divorced. It was really beautiful with the kids there.’
