was shocked to discover that not everyone in Australia knows who he is during an appearance on a Channel Nine show on Tuesday night. 

The Prime Minister made a surprise cameo on comedic series, The Hundred with , and was faced with finding out how many viewers recognised him via a poll conducted with the live audience. 

98 per cent of the show's participants correctly identified the PM, but Albanese was unimpressed by the 2 per cent who did not. 

'Who are the two people who are leaving Australia at this point in time?' he quipped upon seeing the result. 

In a light-hearted chat with comedian and host Andy Lee, Albanese also discussed his DJ career, under the moniker DJ Albo. 

'I haven't done it for a while because I'm busy with other things,' Albanese said.

'I used to do it a fair bit for fundraisers for a charity called Reclink.'

He added, 'For some reason people sing along to parts of that.' 

It comes after Albanese opened up about when he as he approaches four years being in power. 

He is hopeful of becoming the first Australian Prime Minister in more than six decades to pave his own way out of the office. 

The last to leave office on his own terms was Sir Robert Menzies on January 20, 1966. 

All 15 leaders since have been removed from the job by either the Australian public or their own party colleagues - or in Harold Holt's case, death. 

Albanese explained that he intends to step back from the role when he 'stops growing as a person' during a wide-ranging interview with Channel Seven podcast The Issue. 

'Then I'll know it is time to watch the footy every Saturday rather than do this job,' he said.
