Alan Carr Saves Friend from Knife Attack

Alan Carr Saves Friend from Knife Attack

Traitors winner Alan Carr reportedly saved his close friend’s life after he fended off a knife-wielding thug.

The funny man, 49, is believed to have tackled the attacker who was brandishing a ten-inch blade at actress Cleo Rocos, 63.

In a bid to protect his friend while they were on a night out in Marrakesh, Alan knocked the weapon out of the assailant’s hand.

Cleo told the publication that a man, believed to be in his 40s, appeared from the shadows and grabbed her arm.

It is not known when the incident took place.

‘I pushed him away, but he grabbed me tighter and, in really bad English, he said he wanted to be with me’, she told The Sun.

‘We didn’t think he was being serious, but then he pulled a knife out, it was probably about ten inches long.

‘Most people would have been terrified, but Alan was surprisingly calm.’

In his heroic moment, Alan used his own body as a barrier between his friend and the attacker and reportedly told the aggressor, ‘don’t be so rude,’ and hit the knife out of his hand.

The attacker was said to be in disbelief over the incident and Cleo branded her pal a ‘real gentleman’ who is strong and chivalrous.

The comic somehow managed to hoodwink Nick Mohammed and David Olusoga into believing he was a Faithful during Celebrity Traitors this week.

His win ensured bagged the entire £87,500 prize pot as well as a string of new TV opportunities, including the return of his Chatty Man talk show.

Alan is also tipped to be Strictly’s new host after Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman announced their departure last month after 20 years.

A source said: ‘Alan’s comedy talents were showcased perfectly in the Traitors castle and it’s reminded many people just how funny he is.

‘Even people who claimed they didn’t like him before have loved watching him laugh and lie his way through the episodes’.

They told The Mirror: ‘It would be no surprise if Chatty Man now got a reboot – not necessarily on Channel 4 – and the Beeb could do way worse than letting Alan loose in the ballroom. He’d be a hoot’.

The Daily Mail contacted Alan Carr’s representatives for comment at the time.

It comes after Celebrity Traitors fans have called for Alan to receive a knighthood after his surprise victory on Thursday night’s show.

With a peak of 12 million viewers, it was the BBC’s biggest overnight audience since Gavin & Stacey’s Christmas special last year.

Viewers watched in awe and bewilderment as Alan snatched the prize, despite his previous claims that he was as bad a Traitor as series three star Linda Rands.

Alan’s surprise win came as a result of Nick, 45, and David, 55, turning on fellow Faithful Joe Marler at the last minute in a shock twist that left viewers reeling.

Despite Joe, 35, correctly guessing that Alan and Cat Burns, 25, were the remaining Traitors, he failed to convince the others and found himself being banished at the last minute.
