Aggie MacKenzie has claimed she wanted desperately to be Kim Woodburn’s pal, but says her late co-star ‘didn’t do friends’ and their feud led to her seeking therapy.
Kim, who sadly passed away in June aged 83, had been engulfed in a 20-year feud with her former TV partner, with claims the pair ‘never spoke’ during filming of How Clean is Your House and their fractured relationship led to the show’s end.
During Tuesday’s Vanessa Aggie, 69, who has previously spoken openly about the pair’s long running discord, described her and Kim as ‘chalk and cheese’.
She said: ‘I think that’s one of the reasons why it worked so well on camera and we didn’t ever become friends, I wanted to become friends but Kim didn’t do friends’.
‘So this friction between us i think created lots of energy and when the cameras came on we managed to do it really well, and then when the cameras were off we’d go to either sides of the room’.
Aggie went on to reveal that she still dreams about reconciling with Kim, and that their fractious relationship took precedence over her marriage troubles at therapy sessions.

Kim died in June age of 83 following a short illness, with tributes pouring in for the much-loved star
She said: ‘I spent a few weeks talking about my husband, and then after that we went on to talk about my relationship with Kim’.
‘Which was a much bigger problem for me than my marriage’.
The TV star eventually split from husband Matthew Goulcher in 2010 after 19 years of marriage.
Following her co-stars passing Aggie said in a statment to Daily Mail: ‘Kim was a tormented soul, but now she’s finally at peace.
‘We clashed often. Behind the fierce persona was deep pain and incredible strength. She survived because she had to. I hope she’s resting now. She was an unforgettable woman.’
In 2023 Aggie opened up about ‘never getting on’ with Kim and said how the show finished in 2009 after six years, because their relationship had become too fractured and it was too hard for them to continue filming together.
Speaking on GB News to Nana Akua, Aggie said: ‘I think we’re chalk and cheese, and so different from each other, but I think that was one of the reasons why it worked.
‘Because of the friction there was between us, it created this energy and so we knew how to be in front of the camera. I mean, most of it was ad lib. We had an idea of the storyline, but we just kind of made it up as we went along.

Aggie continued: ‘Kim is not the most straightforward person. I’m somebody who just likes to get on and Kim had a very difficult beginning, a difficult childhood and I think in her home, growing up’,
‘There was lots of conflict, many rows and she spent a lot of her childhood in a children’s home.
‘And I think for her, it’s kind of normal to have conflict and I think that if things are calm and easy, I think she found that quite difficult. That’s not me, I like it easy peasy. There were lots of highs, and a few lows.’
The star revealed that both presenters were also ready to do something different and move on from the show.
Aggie said: ‘We did it for a while and it became really I mean, it was very stressful. We did it for six years, and that’s a long time.’
