Andra Day was seen laughing as she had to be carried over a puddle when leaving the Albie Awards in New York on Thursday as she headed back to her hotel.
The R&B singer, 38, was a guest at the Clooney Foundation For Justice’s second annual Albie Awards at the New York Public Library in New York City.
The event, which honors people who have devoted their lives to justice, were named after Justice Albie Sachs, a lawyer and former judge who was imprisoned for his fight to end apartheid in South Africa.
But the Rise Up singer had to be carried out of her luxury vehicle as she arrived at the awards ceremony to avoid geting her floor length black gown wet as she headed to the luxury Mark hotel.
The Grammy Award-winning star was seen smiling a strong man lifted her with one arm and made sure she was under an umbrella with his free hand.

Andra made sure to keep a tight hold of her iPhone as she was swept up off her feet and giggled at the chivalrous gesture.
Just hours earlier, the singer had posed up a storm as she arrived at the awards ceremony, striking a sultry look as she donned a shimmering black number complete with sleek black heels.
The songstress accessorised the overall look with a pair of feathered black gloves, a matching set of glittering earrings and necklace, and clutched on to a diamond-encrusted purse
At the event, Andra was greeted by Hollywood superstar George Clooney who, along with his human rights lawyer wife Amal, had hosted the charitable night.
The three stars then posed together, as Andra slotted in effortlessly next to Amal, who was dressed in a sparkling silver dress.
In another snap, George pulled an amusing face whilst Andra and fellow singer Alicia Keys grinned either side of him.
The Deliverance actress was then seen sitting with soul superstar Mary J. Blige and supermodel Kate Moss as the three ladies beamed at their table.

Some of the other honorees during the festivities included Truth Hounds, a Ukrainian rights group, who were given the Justice For Survivors Award; the Syrian Center for Media and Freedom of Expression received the justice for journalists award; and the Thai Lawyers for Human Rights got the Justice For Democracy Defenders Award.
George and Amal, who just celebrated their ninth wedding anniversary the previous day, founded the Clooney Foundation For Justice in 2016, and ultimately they hosted the inaugural Albies last September.
They founded the organization in order to ‘help protect human rights’ and to make sure ‘no one is above the law’, all while providing resources to victims of human rights abuses, according to the CFJ website.
Since its inception the Clooney Foundation For Justice has grown every year, and now works in more than 40 countries.
