Collingwood skipper Darcy Moore and his girlfriend Dee Salmin turned heads at the Brownlow Medal count in Melbourne on Monday night – but not just for their outfits.
The pair shared a series of highly stylised photos to Instagram ahead of the AFL’s night of nights, both pulling very serious expressions that left fans wondering if they would crack a smile at all.
Moore, 29, looked dapper in a sharp black Oscar Hunt suit with satin lapels, which he paired with a simple black turtleneck and polished leather shoes for a sleek, understated look.
A brooch pinned to his lapel added a subtle touch of flair, giving the Collingwood captain a dash of old-school sophistication.
Meanwhile, his Triple J radio star partner Dee Salmin, 31, revealed she was channelling a ‘sea witch’ in a dramatic strapless white gown with a keyhole cut-out under the bust.
The couture creation featured intricate beading, shimmering sequins and textured floral embellishments.
Wearing her blonde hair slicked back into a severe bun, Salmin accentuated the sculptural drama of the dress with minimal accessories and glowing, bronzed makeup.
The statuesque couple struck several high-fashion poses in front of peach curtains, with one snap showing the radio star staring up at her towering boyfriend as he returned her intense gaze.
Many of their celebrity friends took to the comments section to gush over their very sophisticated look.
‘Wowwww,’ wrote sexologist Chantelle Otten and AFL star Patrick Dangerfield shared an excitement emoji.
The Sunday Hook Up host has leaned into her tongue-in-cheek ‘witch’ persona following a storm of criticism over her relationship with the Collingwood star.
In October last year, she posted a photo to Instagram of her and Darcy attending the Brownlow Medal count, along with a comment she had received from a troll.
‘Darcy has money, fame and elite football skills, yet traded his gonads to a feminist witch,’ the troll wrote.
Salmin played a cover of the 1972 Eagles classic Witchy Woman over her post and captioned it with some classy words – saying she was ‘immortalising’ the ‘gonads’ remark as ‘the highest compliment I’ve ever received’.

Clearly amused by the remark, she updated her Instagram bio to proudly declare herself ‘a gonad stealing feminist witch’.
Salmin has developed a reputation for speaking out about her very ‘woke’ views.
In July last year, she gave an incredibly woke explanation for the fact she doesn’t want to live together with the premiership-winning Collingwood skipper.
Salmin hosts Triple J radio’s The Sunday Hook Up sex education program, and she went into detail about their romance on another ABC show, Ladies, We Need To Talk… Back.
‘I don’t live with my partner at the moment and we have such different, independent, busy lives,’ she said.
‘We get to have so much of what we had when we were still single in our relationship.
‘But I wonder how much you can actually upkeep that when you do end up living together.
‘So much of it is hetero-dynamic learnt behaviours you might fall into.’
To clarify, it appears she was using those five key words to indicate she and Moore don’t conform to the heterosexual gender stereotype of women taking on the bulk of housework and domestic duties when they live with a partner.
She was supported by the show’s host, TV star turned radio personality and author Yumi Stynes, who said living together would lead to ‘domestic drudgery’ that’s ‘not sexy’ and asked if Salmin thought all couples should live separately.
‘I’m going to be doing it for as long as possible,’ Salmin said.
‘I also said to my partner we are going to have separate bedrooms [if/when they live together].’
‘I’m sorry but that’s really hot, I’m into that,’ Stynes replied.
‘I just think it’s so important. I think that it’s something you really need to make sure that you’re taking care of and working on… your partner can’t be everything,’ Salmin explained.
This year’s Brownlow predictor models have tipped another tight finish, with Collingwood’s Nick Daicos leading most simulations after a season built on sheer consistency.
The Magpies superstar was prolific with disposals, regularly surpassing 30 touches, while also delivering match-winning bursts that kept him in the spotlight even when Collingwood struggled.
Right behind him is Geelong’s Bailey Smith, who made an immediate impact in his first season at Kardinia Park.
