AFL star Jude Bolton’s wife Lynette shares devastating update on her cancer battle: ‘Aggressive’

Lynette Bolton has shared a devastating update on her cancer battle, after she was forced to start chemotherapy just days before Christmas.

The 44-year-old on Monday shared how she is dealing with an ‘aggressive’ form of breast cancer.

‘Mine is not hormone driven. Basically it’s aggressive and it’s quick growing,’ she told Perth Now.

‘But what that means is it reacts well to chemo. So it’s quite voracious, but it actually responds quite well to treatment.’

Lynette discovered a lump just weeks before Christmas and ten days later received the heartbreaking diagnosis.

‘It was the end of November and I was just having a shower, and just realised that there was a lump around 2.5 to 3cm and got onto it pretty quickly,’ she said.

The WAG is now facing 12 rounds of chemotherapy.

‘It is a horrendous treatment,’ she said, adding that she is trying to ‘be positive and look at silver linings’ despite the ‘crazy’ experience.

The wife of Sydney Swans legend Jude announced her health battle on Instagram in December and took the opportunity to send a message of support to other women suffering from the killer disease.

‘Starting chemo six days before Christmas certainly wasn’t on my 2025 bingo card,’ Lynette began in her post, which featured a video showing her getting treatment and beginning chemo.

‘It is what it f**king is.

‘Less than four weeks ago I noticed a lump on my right breast.

‘Countless doctor appointments, mammograms, ultrasounds, biopsies, MRIs, blood tests, breast surgeon and oncology appts later (even a day surgery) AND today I kicked off the first of 12 to 24 weekly rounds of immunotherapy and chemo.

‘It’s happened fast. Really bloody fast.

‘I’m not scared. I’m mostly p***ed off. I’m really not very good at being told to slow down.’

Lynette – who hosts Channel Seven’s Travel Oz show and is a certified money coach – went on to explain that her health battle means she has to ‘reassess and get crystal clear on what matters in 2026’.

She then had a message for other women who have found themselves in the same position she’s in.

‘For the person who’s just been diagnosed. For the one sitting in a waiting room trying not to spiral. For the one pretending they’re fine so everyone else doesn’t worry. Especially so close to Christmas.

‘If that’s you – you don’t have to be brave all the time. You don’t have to stay positive. You just have to get through today.

‘And if my story helps you feel even a fraction less alone then I’m glad I’m sharing and I’m so bloody glad you’re here.

‘We’ll take this one step at a time. Together.’

Footballer Jude, 45, and Lynette married in 2010 and have two daughters together.
