After wrapping up her residency in November 2024, the singer, 37, has stepped out of the spotlight. 

Now, insiders have spoken about how Adele's new career move will coincide with new music. 

The songstress is set to make her acting debut in fashion designer Tom Ford's Cry To Heaven alongside  and .

The movie will be an adaption of the Anne Rice's 1982 novel which depicts the lives of castrated opera singers, or castrati, and feuding aristocrats in 18th century .

And to accompany the Hollywood movie, Adele will reportedly record a new single.

A source told The Sun: 'The movie is steeped in the opera world, so naturally, they wanted the world’s most famous singer involved.

'When she finally agreed to record a track, the producers were ecstatic. Getting new material from Adele is like gold dust. But she is absolutely determined to prove she has the acting chops on camera to match her powerhouse vocals.' 

Another insider told the publication, Adele, who was trained at BRIT school, is planning to move away from music to focus on acting. 

They said: 'The truth is, an acting career is vastly more conducive to family life than being a touring musician, film sets offer a structured routine. You shoot for a few months in one location, you do the press, and then you are done.'

Adele, who is mother to son Angelo, 12, has previously spoken about how much she doesn't like touring. The singer co-parents with her ex husband Simon Konecki.

She said during her last performance at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace after a two-year stint: 'To my son, I chose to do a residency maybe because I f****** hate touring.

'But I chose to do a residency so I could keep his life normal. And I did do that. But I also wouldn't change it for the world, but I get to be with him on the weekends now because obviously he can't always come. 

'So I love you to bits. ... Thank you for being patient for me.'

She also told her fans: 'I just don't know when I want to next come on stage. And it's time to move on. It's time for the next chapter and it's time for the next season of my life.'

Adele has made no secret about wanting more children with her fiancé Rich Paul. 

They have been romantically linked since they went public with their relationship in July 2021 at an NBA game. 

In August 2024, Adele confirmed that she and Paul were engaged during her concert in Munich, Germany at the time.

She said during one of her shows: 'I really want to be a mum again soon, so every time I see a name I like, I write it down in my phone.' 

An insider added stepping into Hollywood film 'is the perfect compromise' as it will help Adele 'keep her family grounded' as she wants to be there 'for every school run and bedtime story'.
