Adele looked sensational as she took to the stage in Munich for the first date of her ten performance residency in the city.

The Easy On Me hitmaker, 36, commanded the stage as she wowed in a midnight blue floor length dress as she belted out her hits to the delight of adoring fans.

The singer cinched in her waist with a navy belt as she waltzed across the huge stage at the Munich Messe stadium, which has been custom-built for her stay in the city.

Opting for her usual glamorous appearance, Adele didn’t disappoint as she wore her blonde tresses down in voluminous curls and accessorised the look with some silver sparkly hoops.

Adele mania has swept the German city as hordes of fans descended upon Munich  ahead of the superstar’s much-anticipated residency.

Despite warnings of severe thunderstorms, fans were undeterred as they packed out the 74,000 capacity stadium.

Meanwhile the star, who is known for keeping it candid, was open about her nerves for the show as shared a behind the scene snap admitting she is ‘bl****y s******g herself’ ahead of the performance.

The snap was projected onto the screens at the stadium as she teased fans just over two hours before she is due to appear on stage at 7:30pm.

With her makeup complete, Adele pouted in the image as she sat with her hair in rollers while holding a handwritten sign which read: ‘See you soon! I’m bl***y s*****g myself’ alongside a smiley face.

Before the concert, MailOnline spoke to the crowds of adoring fans who had already gathered en masse at the venue, with one devoted fan even rocking custom Adele Crocs.

The supporter called Daniel was certainly strolling in the deep as he modelled the comfy white shoes which was adorned with images of the star and various song names.

As well as his Crocs, Daniel proved his dedication to attending the show as he detailed his family’s ‘fiddly’ journey from the UK to Germany as they attempted to save money on the trip.

He told MailOnline: ‘I’m really pleased at how we managed to save an absolute fortune by not flying Birmingham to Munich, which was an option.

‘Instead we trained to a London airport then went to Duesseldorf and trained to Munich and stayed twenty mins outside the city as the hotel prices are low, then we can just train into the centre for 4 euros.

‘It’s all been quite fiddly but it’s meant each of us has been able to save over 1,000 pounds – which is more than the total price of the holiday – flight, hotel and ticket. This is importantly as the extra cash means we can enjoy ourselves a bit and have some drinks and meals.’

He added: ‘This has been fun so far although it’s hard to just get still water instead of sparkled, and the customer service has been pretty gruff when it came to paying.’

However, despite saving over £1k on travel from Birmingham, Daniel was still shocked at the ‘astronomical’ prices of merchandise.

He shared: ‘I’m very tempted to get some merch at the concert but the prices are astronomical so so far I’m just enjoying lapping up all the compliments I’m getting about my Crocs.’

It was feared fans could also end up suffering the wrath of fierce thunderstorms as weather experts issued a severe weather and the concert organiser’s announce emergency plans.

‘Individual thunderstorms are approaching from the west. There will be gusts of wind with speeds around 60 km/h (17 m/s)’ reads the warning from German Weather Service (DWD).

It says the potential for lightning strikes presents a serious danger to life, and urges fans are to avoid staying outdoors – which is exactly what attending a concert like this would mean.

Here the DWD’s warning level is yellow, indicating a high risk. The threat is so severe that fans are being advised to seek shelter in buildings and prepare for the worst.

Further recommendations for action included securing loose objects and avoiding large bodies of water.

With temperatures around 23°C and humidity at 74%, the conditions are ripe for severe storms.

But although the darkening skies over Munich remained unpredictable, fans were overwhelmingly excited about the concert tonight.

Some admitted to feeling uneasy, especially given that even Adele had to cancel her final dress rehearsal yesterday due to intense lightning and severe storms.

Meanwhile the severe weather warning prompted the event organizer to announce an emergency plan.

An official statement from the organizers revealed: ‘Should the worst-case scenario of a concert cancellation occur, a ‘safe room’ is available for all visitors, which can be accessed quickly but calmly as instructed.’

The Munich city authority also issued urgent warnings, urging fans to stay informed and take appropriate precautions.

The Johanniter rescue service advised fans to dress in weatherproof clothing and to be prepared for the worst-case scenario.

Head of Operations Michael Streng stressed the importance of safety, stating, ‘When 75,000 people come together, something can always happen – from an allergic reaction to an insect bite to heart problems.’

Streng emphasized the need for hydration, urging fans to drink at least a litre and a half of non-alcoholic drinks given the heat and the humidity.

Free drinking water stations have been set up throughout the event site, allowing fans to stay hydrated without breaking the bank.

Remaining positive they said: ‘We’re just hoping now that the weather holds as we’ve heard it could bucket it down. But either way our spirits are so good we’ll still be happy whatever happens!’

But some fans refused to let fears about the whether dampen their spirits.

Speaking to Mail Online, Charlotte Roberts, 22, from Mold in North Wales says: ‘The weather forecast has been improving buts it’s still kind of touch and go.’

‘There’s a really dark cloud overhead, but we’re going to be okay whatever happens – because both my mother and I brought our ponchos! It’s exciting!’

Elsewhere, another family revealed they’d been on a ‘hell of an adventure’ to reach the Munich venue, travelling by plane, coach and train.

Jamie, who arrived from Suffolk with his wife and two daughters shared his long journey with MailOnline, after having first arrived in at Frankfurt Hahn airport which was ‘absolutely nowhere near Frankfurt’.

He shared: ‘ It’s been a hell of an adventure so far. We arrived at Frankfurt Hahn airport yesterday only to discuss its actually absolutely nowhere near Frankfurt.’

‘It then cost us 200 Euros to get us by coach to Frankfurt, then a train to Munich, but it was worth it in the end.’

‘We went out last night to rhbfamois Munich brewery pub – the Hofbrauhaus, and we had schnitzel and pork knuckle and these massive beers which was great fun. I’d thought about coming out a bit earlier for the Euros and having a big blow out but undecided to save my dish and energy for this and it’s been definitely worth it so far.

‘We’re now all here and it’s the little girls first concert, and we’ve all got our Adele T-shirts on so it’s going to be great and we all can’t wait.’

Meanwhile, another family came prepared for the potential extreme weather and cleverly packed ponchos as they queued for the concert – a smart move considering Adele had scrapped her final dress rehearsal because of the weather.

Anne, who travelled to Munich from Solihull with her daughter Jodie, shared: ‘It’s really great out here in Munich, you could almost prefer it to the UK – and here at the central square, Marienplatz, it’s a really lovely place to be to soak up the atmosphere before it all starts tonight.

‘So we’ve been about the city a bit enjoying it but we’ve made sure to stay very practical too so we keep checking we have our tickets with us and we’ve gone out bought ourselves ponchos just in case.

‘Right now it’s really hot and sunny but it seems to keep changing so we’ll have to see. Fingers crossed.’

Elsewhere, Keith, his wife Claire and their daughters Hannah and Charlotte detailed their lovely getaway to Germany ahead of the gig.

Keith explained: ‘We’ve been out here in Germany for days now and it’s been amazing, we’ve already been in Cologne, Nuremberg and Augsburg and been loving it all.’

‘And now here we are in Munich and we just can’t wait for tonight. Here we are all together and we’re going to have a really good time.’

Concert organisers released a statement announcing that the run-through was cancelled 'Due to safety measures,' but added they hoped it could be rescheduled for later on Thursday

Concert organisers released a statement announcing that the run-through was cancelled ‘Due to safety measures,’ but added they hoped it could be rescheduled for later on Thursday

It comes shortly after Adele’s concert plans were called into question after the singer was forced to cancel the final dress rehearsal for her Munich concert over fears of extreme weather, including storms.

The superstar, 36, and her management made the decision to cancel after reports of fierce thunderstorms and heavy rain.

The poor weather has cast doubt on Adele’s Munich performance on Friday and fans are no doubt holding their breath after being teased by the singer with snaps of her rehearsals on Instagram.

Concert organisers released a statement announcing that the run-through was cancelled ‘Due to safety measures,’ but added they hoped it could be rescheduled for later on Thursday.

Around 740,000 fans are expected to attend Adele’s German show at the custom built venue which was also host an ‘Adele experience’ featuring an English pub, a stage for a cover band and stalls selling specially designed cocktails.

Organisers are also hoping to get into the Guinness Book of World Records for the largest outdoor screen of all time which stands at 220m wide and 30m high, costing £34million.

The entire construction is supposed to resemble a concert shell, like a smaller scale version of the venues in Las Vegas.

Last month the singer shared a sneak peak of preparations for the stadium show as she sported a high-vis vest and with her back towards the camera looked out across a busy building sight.

She captioned the snap: ‘It’s all a bit bloody exciting’.

Adele captioned another black and white photo of herself sat in one of the stadium seats, smiling into the camera: ‘Ich kann es kaum erwarten, euch am Freitag zu sehen!’.

The German phrase, which translates as ‘Can’t wait to see you on Friday!’, sent her fans wild with many commenting heart emojis and welcoming her to Germany.

She also told German Broadcaster ZDF that the giant video installation will enhance the experience for fans.

She explained: ”They just want to see your face and know it’s you, so the screens are enormous.’

Despite the first show starting on Friday, The Mirror revealed aroun
d 5% of tickets for the shows over the next month are still available to buy.

The run of 10 shows in Munich will be her last gigs this year, aside from a few more sold out shows in Vegas, and her only shows in Europe.

‘My tank is quite empty at the minute,’ the star said ahead of the residency in Munich. ‘I don’t have any plans for new music at all. I want a big break after all this and I think I want to do other creative things just for a little while. You know, I don’t even sing at home at all. How strange is that?’

Adele also revealed she has a ‘rock solid booty’ after training ‘like an athlete’ ahead of upcoming Munich residency, that will see her walk ‘four or five miles a night’ on stage.

Adele kicks off her 10-date run at the custom-built Munich Messe stadium on Friday and said she been working out ‘like a crazy person’ to prepare for playing the ‘f*****g enormous’ concerts.

The songstress revealed she has a ‘rock solid booty’ after training ‘like an athlete’ ahead of upcoming Munich residency, that will see her walk ‘four or five miles a night’ on stage

Speaking at one her Weekends with Adele Las Vegas shows, she revealed: ‘I am back at my gym grind like nobody’s business, I am doing two or three sessions a day.

‘My a**e is getting rock solid again! I can move mountains with my bum. I have been working out like a crazy person. The reason that I am working out like I’m an athlete again is because that stage is f****** enormous’.

Before adding: ‘I am back at my gym grind like nobody’s business, I am doing two or three sessions a day’.

Adele has also said that at her own request she had told organisers to built a special stage that would let her connect with the crowd.

Saying: ‘I was like ‘build me a stage out in the crowd’, And they were like ‘Well, we can’t get you there unless you walk there on a stage”

‘[So] I think I’ll get a good four or five miles in a night, walking. So I really need to get my stamina up!’.
