Adam Peaty’s Dad Snubs Stag Party, Gordon Ramsay Takes Center Stage as Wedding Boycotts Revealed

Adam Peaty’s father Mark failed to attend his son’s stag party after a bitter rift led the star to ban his mother Caroline from his wedding, Daily Mail can reveal.

The Olympic swimmer has seen almost his entire family snub his upcoming wedding to Gordon Ramsay’s daughter Holly, with names including his aunt Louise Williams and her husband and cousin Luke Peaty, saying they will not attend over the row.

Adam, 30, is due to tie the knot to his influencer fiancée, 25, at Bath Abbey on December 27 with guests including David and Victoria Beckham.

But adding yet more shambles to the ceremony, it’s emerged that his father didn’t even join his son at his stag do, with future father-in-law Gordon instead taking centre stage during the trip.

The fallout has grown so serious, that sources revealed on Thursday that there have been ‘horrible’ threats of violence against Holly and Adam and he was reportedly escorted from his plane by armed police after receiving threats on his stag do.

The fallout comes after Mrs Peaty from Uttoxeter, Staffordshire, was not invited to Holly’s hen celebrations on Friday at celebrity Cotswolds hotspot Soho Farmhouse.

In the days since, a briefing battle has ensued which has seen Holly’s famous father Gordon’s PR machine jump into action – with a blizzard of accusations and counter-accusations from each side. 

The Peaty family have taken to social media in force to claim they have been overlooked from the couple’s wedding plans because they are ‘simple people on benefits’, who do not fit in with the Ramsays’ polished look.

However, a source close to the Ramsays points to ‘wider problems’ in the Peaty family which they say is at the heart of the fall out – and that they are serious.

The insider explained that there have been ‘horrible’ threats of violence against Holly and Adam and that police are now involved.

On Thursday it also emerged that Adam’s brother James was arrested over allegations he sent threats to the the sportsman during his stag weekend.

James Peaty, 34, was questioned by police for two days before being released on conditional bail after allegations he sent Adam a barrage of verbal threats while he was celebrating his stag weekend in the Hungarian capital of Bupadest.

A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police told the Daily Mail: ‘We arrested a 34-year-old man, from the Uttoxeter area, on 11 November 2025, on suspicion of harassment.

‘The man was released on conditional bail while our enquiries continue.’

The Olympic swimmer reportedly had to be escorted from his plane by armed police after receiving threats on his stag do.

He is said to have been met by five uniformed police officers who flanked him through immigration and baggage reclaim, after the aircraft touched down at Manchester Airport on Sunday night.

They said CCTV was also monitored by authorities for suspicious activity and Adam was escorted from the building into a waiting vehicle.

The Sun report the police presence came following fears he could be assaulted as shaken Adam initially contacted his fiancée Holly, who then alerted police.

A friend told the publication: ‘The issues that have been reported don’t stem from hen do or wedding invitations; it goes so much deeper. 

‘Things escalated over the weekend when someone became increasingly abusive and threatening over text. Adam was trying to enjoy his stag do and was getting freaked out by it all.

‘He then received a threat that he’d be met off the plane. He told Holly who called the cops after consulting with her family.’

The friend added that Holly’s parents, chef Gordon Ramsay and his wife Tana have been ‘100 per cent supportive’ of them.

But sources close to the situation told the Daily Mail’s Katie Hind that the accusations from team Ramsay have not reflected favourably upon them.

The insider told Mail+: ‘It all seems rather unedifying for Team Ramsay to come out and throw around accusations about a normal, ordinary family like the Peatys.’ The full exclusive report is available to read here.

Adam and Holly’s ceremony is taking place at Bath Abbey before famous guests head to lavish country estate Kin House.

A reception is set to follow at a plush country hotel where relatives and friends are due to stay over the festive weekend.

But after Adam banned his mum Caroline from the star-studded bash and threatened to stop her seeing her five-year-old grandson George ever again, invited family members have said they won’t go.

His cousin Luke told the Daily Mail: ‘I’m not going to the wedding now. I don’t know the ins and outs of the rift and I don’t want to get involved.’

A family source said that Adam’s aunt Louise – his mother’s younger sister – and her husband have decided to steer clear of the wedding.

It is understood his brother James and his wife Charlotte, and his half brother Rich will also snub the event in support of their mum.

Adam’s sister Bethany was a guest and may be his only family member present at his wedding.

Following the hen snub, Mrs Williams posted on Holly’s Instagram accusing her of been ‘hurtful’ and ‘divisive’ towards her sister.

Mrs Peaty also posted in her social media how upset she had been.

A family source said: ‘Now instead of all Adam’s family going it may be that none of them do apart from his sister.

‘It’s very sad it has come to this. It should be a happy family occasion, and for both families to celebrate together and get to know one another. 

‘Family members had been invited to Boxing Day drinks at the Ramsay’s house before the big day at the abbey.

‘They were all due to stay in a posh hotel where the reception is being held which was costing a fortune.

‘It was a way above the means of some relatives who are struggling to get by on universal credit, but there was no offer of help from Adam for accommodation or transport.’

The world champion swimmer is a multi-millionaire but doesn’t like to ‘splash the cash much’ on his family, the source said.

Holly was pictured breaking cover on Thursday clutching a ‘Bride’ phone case when she was seen for the first time since her feud with fiancé’s family came to light.

News that much of his loved ones won’t attend the wedding, also comes after Adam’s family accused his camp of ‘body-shaming’ his mother Caroline.

They also insisted he isn’t following his Christian beliefs by shunning his family from their wedding celebrations and accused Adam of sending his mother outfit options because they ‘didn’t approve of her choices’.

The tirade of comments from Adam’s side of the family come after a source close to the situation explained why they were no longer invited to the nuptials.

Speaking to the Daily Mail’s Katie Hind, they said: ‘You only have to look at the picture to see that there is a certain ‘type’, says one person familiar with the party.

‘They all look the same and you wonder if Caroline might have stuck out a bit. She’s a normal woman, not a celebrity. You look at Holly’s Instagram and it’s all so planned, so super-glam and very, very showy. That’s not Caroline.’

In the hours after the comments were revealed, Adam’s family reacted to the reports on social media as they accused the person who made them of body shaming.

Adam’s auntie Louise Williams, wrote: ‘How can Adam and Holly ‘source’ sit there and say Caroline wasn’t invited because of the way my sister looks? 

‘She doesn’t suit the look Holly is looking for????! WTF BODY SHAMING A 60 YEAR OLD WOMAN! JESUS CHRIST ON A CRACKER!’

She added: ‘Yes. Adam is a born again Christian. He’s not living by the tenets of Christianity is he? Where is ”honour thy mother and thy father” where is the forgiveness?’

Another person close to the situation, Louise McCallum, wrote: ‘He was trying to dress his own mother because they didn’t approve of her outfit choice. The lad has clearly forgotten where he came form. Could do with reading some of those bible passages he spouts.’

The family were accused of ‘airing their dirty laundry’, as one person wrote: ‘You guys are dragging your dirty laundry into the public. Your lack of decorum would be the first indication as to why you’re not invited to the wedding.’

Louise Williams wrote: ‘Decorum? What century are we in?’ 

The day before, Adam’s aunt Louise had weighed into the feud, and said of her sister: ‘She’s not ok at all. Holly and Adam have broken my darling sister’.

She claimed Adam is ‘ashamed’ of his brothers and then bizarrely shared pictures of Holly at the hen do on her Threads account.

Adam’s family branded him a ‘narcissist’ and claimed he has been ‘changed’ by money and ‘forgotten where he came from’.

A member of the clan told The Sun: ‘We were sent a ‘save the date’ and it’s all these country houses. I’m on Universal Credit — I can’t afford that.

‘Adam has been changed by money, fame and fortune. He seems to have forgotten where he came from.

‘We think he has treated Caroline appallingly. You can hear it in her voice. She’s heartbroken.’

Another source told the publication while his family were originally supportive of his engagement to Holly, they feel ‘they have been pushed further and further from Adam over the past year’.

They said: ‘It seems to some of the family that Adam is more at home with Holly and her folks, while his family has been left behind.

‘Caroline is devoted to her grandson George and will move heaven and earth to care for him.

‘As tensions have risen, there have been rows and Caroline has always toed the line because she wants to be a part of her grandson’s life.’

Shocked family members have spoken out against Adam, with Caroline’s sister saying: ‘he’s said the most vile things a son can say to his mother.’ 

It comes after the swimming champion was said to have had his head turned by his fiancée’s fame and money – and now feels ashamed of his own working-class family.

A source close to his mum Caroline has told how she feels so hurt she thinks her son sees her as ‘not good enough’ to match up with the Ramsays socially.

They told the Daily Mail: ‘Adam has changed so much ever since he has been with Holly. She’s from a celebrity world and his parents are not, and his ego and self-importance has just got bigger. He’s not the lovely boy next door that we all remember him as.

‘Adam has changed. He has been so horrible to his mum and he is now trying to exclude her from his life. She is worried sick about all this and can’t believe it is happening.

‘We think Holly has triggered all this, and her parents – the power of the rich and famous.’

The future Olympian was always very close to his mother who would get up at 4am to drive him to swimming events all around the UK as he established himself in the sport in which he would eventually win three gold medals.

But when he started dating and then became engaged to media star Holly – and met her celebrity chef father Gordon Ramsay and their showbiz circle including the Beckhams – he is said to have changed.

The source added: ‘Caroline is not good enough for his new family. She doesn’t fit into the celebrity mold and she doesn’t look like them and dress like them.’

The sought-after wedding venue can accommodate 200 guests on site, with 12 bedrooms suitable for up to 24 guests.

The starting price for a full weekend wedding is £32,750, with bespoke menus for different clients. As Adam’s family are based in the East Midlands, trains to Bath would cost approximately £100 for a return ticket. 

Given there are only 12 rooms in the country house, it is unlikely all of his immediate family would be able to stay there if they did attend.

On Monday, Adam’s aunt accused Holly Ramsay of leaving her mother-in-law Caroline ‘broken’ by failing to invite her to her hen do.

The daughter of Gordon Ramsay welcomed her mother Tana, Victoria Beckham, Adam’s sister Bethany and many more to her pre-nuptial celebrations at celebrity hotspot Soho Farmhouse – yet has reportedly left Caroline ‘broken’ with the snub.

Social media has erupted with anger from Adam’s family, after Caroline shared posts voicing her heartache, leading to her sister Louise Williams, who uses the Instagram handle @Loobylou, and their Aunty Jan weighing in on the ‘s**t show’.

Adam’s aunty Louise said of her sister: ‘She’s not ok at all. Holly and Adam have broken my darling sister’, before claiming Adam is ‘ashamed’ of his brothers and then bizarrely sharing pictures of Holly at the hen do on her Threads account.

When Holly failed to invite Caroline, who helped steer Adam to Olympic glory, to the party, she was left languishing at home in Uttoxeter, Staffordshire, looking after her five-year-old grandson George – Adam’s child with ex-girlfriend Eirianedd Munro.

Caroline took to Instagram on Monday to share a cryptic image reading: ‘When you love someone, you protect them from the pain, you don’t become the cause of it.’

She captioned the post with: ‘The ones I love are the people who hurt me the most.’

The post was soon flooded with comments and likes from the Peaty family, including Aunty Louise detailing the apparent reasons why there was a hen do snub as well as comments about Adam’s brothers and their mental health problems. 

She wrote: ‘They banned her because she would not apologise re the cancellation of the Bath trip because of the train cancellation and Caroline’s refusal to turn her back on her son’s, his brothers who both suffer from adhd and mental health problems and whom Adam considers to be an embarrassment…

‘However it was ok for Adam to make money off his brothers problems in his book. Can I ask I don’t know if you are a mum but would you turn your back on two sons who needed you to remain in favour with a celebrity?’

Her reference to a trip to Bath comes after it was revealed that his parents were invited to the wedding, along with other family members, and Caroline excitedly bought a dress.

But, according to the source, the star and his fiancée didn’t like the ensemble so offered to buy her a different one of their choice. The Peatys had been gifted train travel and accommodation to visit Bath to go shopping, which they accepted.

The planned trip never happened because services going south were either delayed or cancelled due to multiple stabbings on a train in Huntingdon two weeks ago.

The source said: ‘Caroline and Mark couldn’t make the journey and instead of rearranging it, Adam went mad they had missed it and moaned they had wasted his money and he wouldn’t be able to get a refund…

‘For goodness sake, he’s a multi-millionaire. It’s all so sad, not one really knows what goes on behind closed doors. Adam doesn’t really want or need his family anymore. It is heartbreaking to see this once normal, close-knit family fall apart.’

Louise’s tirade did not stop there, as she launched into another defence of her sister, who she insisted had ‘a heart bigger than China’.

She went on: ‘At the end of the day she supports ALL of her children regardless and Adam doesn’t like that. Considering he and Holly are supposed to be mental health advocates im quite taken aback by whats been said…

‘What good mother ever turns their back on their flesh and blood? Certainly not Caroline who has a heart bigger than China…

‘Caroline is one of those few people who is genuinely kind, if she sees a need she fills it. I tell her she is too kind sometimes because her feelings can get hurt. As sisters we argue, we dont speak but we love each other to death. I am very protective of her.’

In another post, she penned: ‘Holly never invited her to the hen night but everyone else’s mother was and she has been excluded from the wedding…

‘Caroline and Mark sacrificed everything for Adam and this is how they treat her. When I say something on her thread I am threatened with repercussions!!!! I pointed out the truth cannot be silenced.’ 

Caroline herself was forced to intervene when one of her followers wrote: ‘O give it over. apologise to you’re son. All that’s wrong with you is that you don’t want to be left alone let you’re son grow up he is an adult. Now you grow up.’

She hit back: ‘You know nothing about me or my family and your comment is not appreciated. As for your comment saying i don’t want my ‘son to grow up’ is a laugh, i’m happy when my children are happy as any mother is…

‘There was no one happier than me, when my son told me he had met his soul mate x I hope that this clarifies the situation x.’

Despite herself being invited to the hen do, Bethany rallied around her family and  joined Aunty Janet in liking a comment reading: ‘You’d hope the Beckham’s would be the first to reach out, given their situation…

‘Hold your head up high; not many Mums would’ve got up at 4am for those pool runs. Adam should be so proud.’

The previous day, Louise blasted Holly over the snub to her future mother-in-law who had ‘opened her home and heart to you’, saying it had inflicted ‘a hurt on my sister that will take a very long time to heal if ever’.

Her post stated: ‘@hollyramsayy I’m so glad that you had a great hen do. As a bride, you deserve that. However, as a person you were divisive and hurtful towards a woman, who I have loved and continue to love deeply.

‘A woman who opened her home and heart to you. You decided, for whatever reason, not to invite her, your prospective mother-in-law to your hen night yet Adam invited his father-in-law, your dad, to his stag night.

‘You invited your mum (quite rightly) and even your mum’s assistant, your sisters, your friends, my niece, but not my sister, your future mother-in-law.

‘I have also seen messages passing between her and Adam about this and other matters and, quite frankly, I expected better of you and definitely of Adam. You have inflicted a hurt on my sister that will take a very long time to heal if ever.’

The post is said to have deeply upset Holly and world champion swimmer Adam who have been dating for more than two years.

A source close to the Peaty family revealed that the swimmer had left his mother ‘heartbroken’ after her sister’s post by contacting her to ban her from the wedding and to tell her she would not see his son George or any future grandchildren again.

In another message to his mother, seen by the Daily Mail, Adam stated his intention to disown his family, despite them having supported him throughout his career.

Caroline waded into the incredible row by expressing her distress in an Instagram post which stated: ‘Crying is a way your eyes speak when your mouth can’t explain how broken your heart is.’ 

Her post attracted messages of support and concern from friends including one who commented: ‘Don’t let them drag you down Caroline.’
