Laura Norton says she is working on her ‘guilty feelings’ as a mother after returning to work on Emmerdale.
The actress, 40, took 18 months off from the ITV soap after welcoming her second child to the world in October 2022.
Screen star Laura, who is also mother to a son called Jesse, three, who she shared with her fiancé Mark Jordon, 59.
And while Laura – who plays Kerry Wyatt in Emmerdale – is delighted to be back on set, she admits she needs to ‘work on my mum guilty feelings’ while she is separated from her offspring.
She added to the Mirror: ‘At the same time, I know it’s an amazing example to set to the kids showing them that I am working.’

Laura continued: ‘I have become that annoying person who says, “Would you like to see another picture?”
‘My friend laughed the other day and said, “That needs to stop”, but I can’t help it.’
Laura has been a cast member since 2012 while her fiancé Mark is known to Emmerdale viewers as Daz Spencer, and first appeared on the show in 2014, before returning for a stint between 2017 and 2019.
While the couple have been engaged since 2018, they still have on wedding plans in place.
Soap star Laura gave birth to a baby girl named Ronnie in October 2022.
Announcing the news to fans at the time, she wrote on Instagram: ”She’s here!!!! We’ve baked another belta.
‘This little superstar joined us on Mon 17th October. She’s dead clever and a tiny little bundle of joy and beauty. Ronnie Jordon.’

Sharing a picture of herself displaying her bump in a tight red maxi dress while gazing into the eyes of Mark, she wrote on Instagram at the time: ‘Round 2… @markjordondad.’
Mark was cleared in August 2019 of attacking a pensioner in a ‘drunken row’ while toasting his engagement with Laura,
He subsequently opened up about his ‘year of hell’ in which he was portrayed as a ‘violent drunk’ one year ago.
The soap star also revealed that the funds for his wedding to co-star Laura had been depleted due to expensive ‘barrister fees.’
Speaking in an interview with the Mirror, the former Heartbeat star revealed the alleged attack was out of character as he’s never been in bother previously.
‘I was portrayed as a violent drunk’, he said, ‘I’d never been in a fight before, never been in trouble with the law, never been in a cell or a police car, apart from a 1960s one in Heartbeat.’
Earlier that month, Mark was cleared of assaulting a pensioner who he bit on the face during a row in a pub beer garden.
Mark hugged Laura outside the courtroom after a jury found him not guilty of affray, unlawful wounding and assault by beating.

The seven-day trial at Manchester’s Minshull Street Crown Court heard that Jordon bit 68-year-old Andrew Potts on July 1 last year.
Mark thanked his legal team, the judge and the jury as he spoke outside court with Laura, who was crying in court as the verdicts were announced.
The TV star meanwhile revealed that the money he had been saving for his nuptials with Laura – a five figure sum – had been spent on legal fees.
He added: ‘I was at home watching the wedding fund being spent on barristers fees. Watching it dwindle.
He continued to say that the couple will now ‘start over’ and that they’ve already began making arrangements for their big day.
During his week-long trial, the actor was supported by a wealth of his Emmerdale co-stars past and present including Nick Miles (Jimmy King), Sammy Woodward (Katie Sugden), Chris Chittel (Eric Pollard) and Charlie Hardwick (Val Pollard).
Also in attendance was Line Of Duty actor Arsher Ali, who is married to Emmerdale actress Roxy Shahidi (Layla Harding).
Speaking of the support he’s had, he added: ‘The support and love I’ve had will give me strength. There’s also the discipline of keeping calm while dealing with what’s going on around you.’
He added that he’s a ‘lucky person’ to to be surrounded by the love of his friends and family and that it was an ‘incredible place to be’.
After being found not guilty, he said: ‘I really am grateful to the jury for proving my innocence and especially for proving the innocence of my loved ones, who’ve had to endure this awful ordeal with me this last year.
‘I’m looking forward to getting back to our engagement and my career, which has been on hold.
‘I just want to thank our families, our friends, our work colleagues and especially the members of the public, who have just been delightful and supportive.’
