Charlize Theron made a fashion statement as she stepped out in New York City on Friday.
The 48-year-old Tully actress — who declared she’ll never gain weight for a movie role again — donned a pair of loose-fitting houndstooth shorts and black over-the-knee boots.
The South African entertainer teamed the stylish look with a black crew neck sweater.
She carried her belongings in a small, white, quilted leather designer clutch.
It comes after last month the silver screen siren hit back at fans who suggested she underwent plastic surgery.

The Monster star slicked her short dirty blonde hair back into a low ponytail with a center part.
She wore understated jewelry that included tiny earrings, a delicate necklace, and a ring.
The longtime performer’s long, almond-shaped nails were coated in a metallic gold hue.
Charlize wore a light face of makeup that elevated her naturally stunning features.
Last month the acclaimed movie star denied reports that she’s undergone a facelift in order to look young.
‘I’m just aging, this is just what happens,’ she said while talking beauty while promoting Dior’s best-selling fragrance J’Adore.
Theron has been the face of the product for an impressive twenty years.
‘My face is changing, and I love that my face is changing and aging,’ she told Allure. ‘But “people think I had a facelift.”‘

‘They’re like, “What did she do to her face?” I’m like, “B***h, I’m just aging! It doesn’t mean I got bad plastic surgery. This is just what happens,”‘ she went on to say.
She also spoke out against the double standard between men and women when it comes to getting older.
‘I’ve always had issues with the fact that men kind of age like fine wines and women like cut flowers,’ she said.
‘I despise that concept and I want to fight against it, but I also think women want to age in a way that feels right to them,’ she mused.
