Australian Story gave the ABC a huge win over its commercial rivals on Monday.

Featuring an intimate chat with media veteran Lisbeth ‘Libbi’ Gorr, best known to Australian viewers as comic character ‘Elle McFeast’, the documentary series scored a massive metro rating of 571,000 viewers.

And in a surprise twist, it was ratings starved Channel 10, who delivered the next best show in prime time overnight with Have You Been Paying Attention?

Hosted by Tom Gleisner, the comedy quiz brought in an impressive 567,000 viewers in the major centres, making it the 7th most popular show overall on Monday.

The network, meanwhile, also scored well with their ‘filler’ episode of The Masked Singer Australia.

Home and Away, over on Channel Seven, continued its strong ratings season in 2023, delivering a metro rating of 426,000 viewers.

Meanwhile, the debut of Big Brother, also on Seven, was a flop. 

The reboot of the classic reality franchise finished as the 19th most watched program on Monday and scored a dire metro rating of just 274,000.

Meanwhile, it was tea time favourite The Chase Australia that gave Seven something to smile about.

Over on Nine, their new reality series My Mum, Your Dad continues to struggle to build an audience with just 312,000 fans tuning in the major centres on Monday.

Channel Nine won the night overall in what was an usually tight ratings race, scoring 26.4 per cent of the audience.

Seven was close behind, in second position with an viewers share of 25.2 per cent.

Channel 10, meanwhile, was a close third for a change, scoring 20.7 per cent of the available audience, with the ABC just behind it on 20.2 per cent.
