Abbey Clancy joked that she ‘a bit of a fridge’ as she recalled how she and now-husband Peter Crouch slept in the same bed ‘multiple times’ when they first began dating, without ever having sex.
The model, 38, and the former footballer, 43, have been together since 2006 – tying the knot in June 2011 and going on to welcome four children.
However, Abbey admitted the start of their relationship was not too romantic, recounting how Pete had taken her to a ‘horrendous’ pub on their first date and made her buy him a drink.
In the latest episode of their podcast, The Therapy Crouch, the couple were joined by comedian Joel Dommett and his wife Hannah Cooper.
Abbey was quick to quiz the pair on their relationship, before saying: ‘Did he make you buy him a drink on the first date? Because Pete made me buy one. I’ve never bought a drink in my entire life until I went out with you.’
Recalling their first date, she added that she had no money at the time and had struggled to pay for their drinks.

She said: ‘I was like 19 at the time. I was living with my mom, I had a job I was on like 15 quid a week. So I had like £7 to go on this date with Peter. And then I said “Oh, I’ll get the next one” and he went “Oh, I’ll have a Guinness”.
‘I was thinking “S**t, how much is a Guinness? I’ve got £7 in my pocket.” So I came back with a Guinness and a tap water.’
Peter burst into laughter as he revealed that when he asked Abbey why she wasn’t drinking, she made up the excuse she was just ‘thirsty’.
The blonde beauty scolded her husband for his ‘not very good manners’, before revealing she had refused the England star’s offer to return to his house.
She said: ‘You took me to the pub opposite your house. He was like “You want to come back to mine? I can see my window from here” I was like “No take me home now!”
Abbey admitted: ‘We slept in the same before having sex – like, multiple times. I’m a bit of a fridge.’
While she then recounted one of the nights they spent together at the start of their relationship, revealing it had a less than romantic ending.
She explained: ‘We’d just met before I went on Britain’s Next Top Model and the day before I was about to film, I had to stay in a hotel. So Pete was like, “Do you want to come and meet me and my friends?”

‘And he ended up staying in the room with me but obviously nothing happened. And I was so desperate to get him out in the morning because I was like “I need to get ready I’m going on Britain’s Next Top Model in like in 10 minutes!”
‘So he left and then I was like thank God I can get read and then there was a knock at the door and he just ran in and vomited everywhere and then left.’
As Joel and Hannah burst into laughter, a chagrined Peter admitted: ‘That wasn’t my finest hour.’
Abbey previously said she had made Peter wait before sleeping with him because she isn’t a ‘complete ho’, but described her bedroom style as ‘lady on the street, freak in bed’.
While in September, she admitted that she was ‘halfway between a freak and sexless’ in an appearance on Loose Women.
The married couple have been very open about their sex life on their popular podcast, with Abbey previously blasting the striker for the secret signal he uses for sex.
In an episode back in May, she fumed: ‘I just don’t know how long I can go on with these sexual emojis that you keep sending me.
‘If the kids go to school and he hears me like, put the key in the door I’m in and no one’s in the house, I just get a beaver and an aubergine emoji text.’

However, she later admitted that filming the saucy scenes wasn’t quite as sexy as it looked, calling it ‘horrific’ and ‘excruciating’ to shoot

Speaking on the podcast in November, she said: ‘The weird thing is when you hear movie stars talk about doing sex scenes and they say it’s the most unsexy thing ever. The advert is really hot but at the time it was horrific.
‘It was the most excruciating thing. There was like 50 crew and I had to just walk and tie Pete up to a snooker table.’
Peter broke into laughter, as he admitted: ‘It was like one of the weirdest days, I can’t even explain it.’
Abbey added: ‘The actual day was so clinical, it was so set out. It was like “Now lick his ear, now turn round and put your bum in his face.”
‘You could hear a pin drop. It was like 50 crew, and they’re like “Turn round, bum in his face, then lean over, whisper in his ear”.’
Peter and Abbey married in a lavish ceremony at Stapleford Park in Leicestershire in June 2011, before later renewing their vows on on a private island at the Anantara Dhigu Maldives Resort in December 2022.
