The video showed the rapper talking to the woman and several others in the background of an interview Rihanna was conducting.
The Fashion Killa singer, 37, exchanged friendly kisses on the cheek with the woman before rejoining his partner, who had a somewhat stony expression. 'oh so this is why they were arguing,' an X user remarked.
However, it turns out the Internet had gotten it wrong.
Insiders debunked the romantic speculation to TMZ, telling the outlet there was absolutely no romantic energy between A$AP and the woman in question - who has known Rihanna for years.

Additionally, Backstage Live Event, the videographer who captured the clip, clarified the couple are 'very much in love' and that Rihanna, 38, was 'not unhappy.'
'@backstageliveent was talking with the couple on the red carpet at the #metgala she was not unhappy and everyone in that circle know each other, so please stop [stop sign emoji] the couple is very much in love,' they posted to their Instagram comments.

Rihanna and A$AP have been together for six years and share three children together.
The newest addition to their family, daughter Rocki Irish Mayers, was born in mid-September.
She joins big brothers RZA, born in 2022, and Riot Rose, who arrived in 2023.
