Ramona Young’s Real Age Revealed Amid 27 Claims

Ramona Young, one of the stars of the new sequel to The Office, the Peacock original comedy The Paper, has reportedly had a false age listed online.

Young, who plays one of the employees of a struggling local newspaper in Toledo, Ohio, has been listed as being 27 years old on her IMDb page and on her Wikipedia entry.

However, public documents obtained by The US Sun reportedly indicate that the actress is six years older than her listed age online.

According to the records, Young was born in August of 1992, which would make her 33 years old as of September 2025.

By contrast, her IMDb biography claims that she was born on May 23, 1998.

The Daily Mail has reached out to Young’s representative but hasn’t yet received a response.

Fans were reportedly suspicious of Young’s age after she scored her breakout role in the critically acclaimed Netflix coming-of-age comedy Never Have I Ever, in which she played the high schooler Eleanor Wong.

Fans appear to have begun discussing the alleged age discrepancy last week on a Reddit post referencing a blind item claiming that an actor in their 30s on a Netflix series had allegedly been lying about their age to gain high school–age roles.

‘Ramona Young from Never Have I Ever is also in her early 30s (should be around 32-33 now) and has a stage age listed online,’ one user claimed in the comments.

‘I think she looks great but when the show premiered I also thought how she does not look 22ish,’ they added.

‘It is true, I can confirm because I knew her personally in 2010 at Cal State LA,’ another user claimed. ‘She was definitely not 12. She was 17 at that time.’

Another fan claimed rumors of Young’s true age had been swirling in recent years.

‘Yeah that is what I had heard about Ramona as well, but I couldn’t find verification. I knew she was older than Maitreyi by a decent amount,’ they alleged, referring to Never Have I Ever lead Maitreyi Ramakrishnan.

Ramakrishnan is 23, making her a full decade younger than her costar’s newly reported age.

Although The Paper is Young’s most high-profile project to date, the rising star has already amassed an impressive set of credits.

In addition to appearing in the main cast of Never Have I Ever, she was featured on DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow from 2018 to 2020 as Mona Wu.

Prior to that, she played Ramona on the Drew Barrymore and Timothy Olyphant–starring zombie comedy Santa Clarita Diet.

She previously appeared in 16 episodes of the Syfy zombie series Z Nation beginning in 2016.

Young’s first credited appearance on a series is from 2012, when she would have been around 14, according to her age listed on IMDb, but her newly reported age suggests she would have been around 20 when she made her debut.

On her new series, The Paper, she plays Nicole Lee, who runs the circulation desk of the Toledo Truth-Teller, a local newspaper that has seen better days.

The publication gets a new lease on life when its new editor-in-chief Ned Sampson (Domhnall Gleeson) takes over and tries to pull it out of a downward spiral.

Young’s character is pursued by her the paper’s ad man Detrick Moore (Melvin Gregg), though she initially tries to rebuff his advances to no avail.

The newspaper features a tortured connection to Dunder Mifflin, the paper company featured on NBC’s hit workplace comedy The Office.

The Steve Carrell–starring mockumentary was an Americanized remake of the original British series of the same name, which was created by Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant.

While The Paper is fairly independent of The Office so far, it does feature one returning character, Oscar Martinez, the former Dunder Mifflin accountant played by Oscar Nunez.

Oscar has also referenced other characters from The Office on the new show, which leaves open the possibility of future guest appearances from his old coworkers down the line.
