Lorraine Kelly has revealed what her first grandchild will call her as she broke her silence on the happy news during Monday’s show.
The TV presenter’s only daughter, Rosie Smith, 29, announced her first pregnancy last week as she posted a sweet post to Instagram.
Celebrating during her ITV show, Lorraine, 64, exclaimed: ‘I’m going to be a granny! How exciting is that? Granny Smith because, you know, my married name is Smith!
‘So I’m Granny Smith! We’re all very excited, it’s huge and wonderful and yeah… it’s just cheered everybody up, which is just great!
‘Thank you to everybody who has sent me messages, it was really kind of you… thank you very much, it means a lot, it means a lot!’

Opening the show, Dr Hilary said: ‘I think congratulations are in order aren’t they grandma?’
Lorraine responded: ‘It’s not about me!… It is.’
Adding that her husband Steve Smith had told her ‘not to interfere too much,’ she admitted: ‘How hard is that going to be not to interfere?
‘We’re just so thrilled. It’s the best and most exciting thing that has happened to our family. It’s just great!’
On Friday, Rosie revealed she could not be more excited about her new arrival, the podcaster shared a selfie of her posing with her blossoming bump in the mirror.
Beaming from cheek to cheek, Rosie cradled her growing tummy as she shared that she was 12 weeks into her pregnancy.
She captioned her post: ‘We could not be more excited – you’re already so loved little one.’
In another photo, she shared her 12-week sonogram scan, in which her little one was ‘the size of a fig’.

Lorraine and her husband, Steve Smith, welcomed their only daughter in 1994.
Rosie’s other half, Steve White, are proud dog parents to their adorable pooch Ruby – a mini wire-haired Dachshund.
Speaking about having a famous mother who appears on British TV weekly, the doting mother – whose podcast is called What If? – previously admitted that Lorraine wasn’t the reason she ventured into broadcasting herself.

Rosie, who studied journalism at Edinburgh Napier University, told The Tab: ‘I don’t really see my mum as an inspiration. I mean, she’s not the reason why I’m studying journalism.
‘My dad is a cameraman, that’s how my parents met actually, whilst my uncle is in advertising and granddad worked in the television industry too. So I guess it’s in the family.
‘I had no idea what I wanted to do at uni, but my family knew a lot about journalism and the media. I also see it as fun rather than work which is important.’
‘I’ve still not decided exactly what I want to do,’ she added back in 2015.
