I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! fans have slammed the show after a ‘horrifying’ challenge left contestant Ellie Cole with a gruesome hand injury.
On Tuesday night, hosts Robert Irwin and Julia Morris watched in horror as the 32-year-old Paralympic swimmer fed her hand through holes filled with boxes of creatures, including snakes and rodents, to fetch yellow stars.
The first box was full of offal, a delicacy for various creatures.
When Ellie reached into a second box filled with rats, one bit and scratched her hand, refusing to let go as she tried to unscrew a star inside.
‘Oh my god, it hurts so much! Ow!’ she cried as Robert winced from above.

The I’m A Celebrity co-hosts were forced to step in and instruct Ellie to move on to the next box.
Viewers took to social media to call out the order of boxes for the challenge.
‘Machine, but I actually really annoyed with the producers for doing this in that order. Shocking,’ one fan wrote.

‘What an absolute weapon, although I hope they don’t make them cover themselves in blood from raw meat and straight to animals again, BRUTAL,’ another said.
‘They were obviously biting because her hand reeked of offal. Producers didn’t think that through properly!’ one commented.
‘Ellie you are the goat Very disappointed in the producers and hosts of the show for not intervening sooner.’

After being lowered into water with a crocodile and collecting two more stars, Ellie was determined to be lifted back up to retrieve the stars from the box of rats.
‘Ellie, we cannot guarantee those rats are not going to bite you again,’ Julia advised.
Viewers took to social media to call out the show’s order of boxes for the challenge
This time, no rats appeared to nip the Paralympian and she successfully grabbed both stars, collecting 12 in total for the challenge.
‘You’re a machine!’ Julia exclaimed.
‘I cannot believe what I just saw,’ agreed Robert.
