Isla Fisher discussed spending Valentine’s Day with husband Sacha Baron Cohen on The Kelly Clarkson Show just two months ago, despite revealing they jointly filed for divorce last year in a shock statement on Friday.
The 48-year-old Australian actress seemed as smitten as ever with her husband, 52, while chatting with the talk show host – even though the pair had already gone their separate ways.
When host Kelly Clarkson asked about the couple’s February 14 plans, she revealed Cohen’s good-humored tradition.
‘Every year Sacha does give me a card that [says] “happy Valentine’s from…” and then there’s a massive question mark, as if anybody else would… as if I have any other Valentines,’ Fisher explained with a laugh.
But per the estranged couple’s statement – they were already exes by the time Valentine’s Day rolled around.

The stars’ divorce statement was typed over a throwback image of them posing together in white tennis outfits.
It read: ‘After a long tennis match lasting over 20 years, we are finally putting our racquets down.
‘In 2023 we jointly filed to end our marriage. We have always prioritized our privacy and have been quietly working through this change.
‘We forever share in our devotion and love for our children. We sincerely appreciate your respecting our family’s wish for privacy.’
The couple met in 2001 and tied the knot in 2010 and are parents to daughters Olive, 17 and Elula, 13, and son Montgomery, nine.
The announcement comes after Rebel Wilson made shock claims about her experience with ‘a**hole’ comedian Sacha in her new memoir, Rebel Rising.
Rebel played Borat star Sacha’s on-screen girlfriend in the 2016 comedy The Brothers Grimsby and made a series of allegations about her uncomfortable experience during shooting.
She alleged that on the set of the Louis Leterrier-directed film Sacha asked her to strip off for scenes — despite her ‘no nudity’ rule — in a string of claims which he has denied and says are contradicted by evidence.

Just last summer their marriage appeared to be going strong as Cohen shared an affectionate snapshot with his wife.
And on their 20th anniversary in December 2021, Sacha penned a thoughtful tribute to his wife on Instagram.
Sharing a collection of throwback photos, he wrote: ‘Happy Anniversary. 20 YEARS.’
Quoting Winnie the Pooh, he added, ‘If there ever comes a day when we can’t be together keep me in your heart. I’ll stay there forever.’
And keeping with his signature sense of humor, he finished the caption, ‘Happy Anniversary my love. I’m writing this rather than getting you a card. Our duration is largely due to our location – after all Hollywood is the bastion of lengthy marriages.’
