Married At First Sight UK fans have pleaded with bosses to bring an end to an ‘annoying’ theme that’s emerged during the new series.
While many viewers are already invested in the romances that have blossomed during the first week, it’s become clear that the show has taken inspiration from a vintage ITV show with a new element.
This year, many of the brides and grooms have come with their own history of struggles, leading many viewers to complain the show is too packed with ‘sob stories’.
Among them was Peggy, who married Georges in Thursday’s episode, with the blonde beauty detailing her failure to find love after her father was diagnosed with prostate cancer.
Paul, who married Tasha in the same episode, also revealed he’d lost a good friend ahead of his wedding, and broke down while discussing him during his speech.

Tasha was also heard discussing about how her parents ‘split up when she was 12,’ and that she grew up in a house where no one ever hugged or said ‘I love you.’
Fans were quick to notice that the ‘sob stories’ were becoming a key element in nearly every couple, and took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to vent their frustrations.
One tweeted: ‘Didn’t realise I was watching X Factor with all these sob stories! #MAFSUK,’ while a second posted: ‘Sick of these X Factor sob stories #MAFSUK.’
‘When you hear another sob story. They don’t need marriage, they just need therapy… #MAFSUK,’ a third shared.

It comes after MailOnline revealed that transgender bride Ella Morgan cheated on her husband Nathanial Valentino with another groom on the show.
Ella, 29, shared a passionate kiss with a contestant on the E4 series that enters the experiment at a later date behind Nathanial’s back despite them committing to each other on their wedding day.
The revelation rocked the cast and Ella’s relationship with Nathanial, 36, who identifies as pansexual, meaning he doesn’t see gender and falls in love with the person, was left in tatters.
Viewers sobbed as Ella and Nathanial married after meeting for the first time at the altar and the former Geordie Shore star accepted his new wife for who she is as a transgender woman.
But Ella formed a connection with one of the other grooms in the process who is a heterosexual man, with the two agreeing they were much better suited.
A TV source told MailOnline: ‘There’s no denying that Ella and Nathanial were instantly attracted to each other the day of their wedding.

The E4 show introduces new couples to the experiment as the series unfolds and Ella’s affair takes place with one of the grooms who is yet to join the process.
