Sabrina Bryan is looking back on her days as a Nickelodeon star in the wake of the explosive MAX documentary Quiet on the Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV.
The Cheetah Girls alum, 39, told People she is grateful for the ‘protection’ she had around her during her youth.
The Just Getting Started singer was at the iHeart Radio Awards Monday when she spoke about the issue.
‘I think we talk a lot about that on the podcast because it’s different,’ said the Magical Rewind podcast co-host who shares the mic with Boy Meets World alum Will Friedle, 47.
Friedle was one of the actors who was called out by Drake Bell for writing a letter of support for convicted child abuser Brian Peck, who spent 16 months behind bars as the result of a plea deal in 2004.

Bryan said, ‘When you are growing up in front of the camera, also how you’re around all adults, there’s a lot of things that go into it, some amazing, some not great.
‘And I was always really grateful because I always had a lot of protection around me,’ she added.
The actress, who starred in a series of The Cheetah Girls movies for the Disney Channel with Raven-Symoné, Adrienne Houghton and Kiely Williams, explained when she was on set, so were her parents.
‘One of them was always on set with me and just really kept me away from anything that could be dangerous or put me in a bad place,’ the A Deadly Dance actress said.
‘And I just really got lucky that I had parents that were just always eyes open. The industry is amazing, but you have to always be careful and take care of your kids.’
Melissa Joan Hart, who starred in the Nickelodeon show Clarissa Explains It All from 1991-1994, said she had a good experience at the network.
On the Meghan McCain Has Entered The Chat podcast, the former child star said she believed Bell and the other victims who have come forward.
‘I don’t know other people’s experiences and I’m not negating anything anybody else says,’ she stressed.

‘I’ve never been told these people’s stories that are in the [documentary]. And I have to say, I’ve never heard a story from a Nickelodeon star personally, nobody’s come to me and talked to me about any of these situations,’ she continued. ‘I absolutely trust them, believe them, one hundred per cent.’
Hart said Clarissa Explains It All was shot at Nickelodeon’s Orlando studio. ‘I had nothing but a wonderful experience,’ she said, before admitting that ‘they did work the kids a lot harder than they probably legally should’.
‘I was surrounded by an amazing crew, an incredible cast that took such good care of me. I mean, these people were protective of me,’ she emphasized.
‘I have to say, not every egg in the Nickelodeon basket is rotten. There were some good eggs – there were some people that really took care of me.’
