Simon Gregson and Wife Emma Celebrate Birthday, Dismissing Split Rumors

Simon Gregson and his wife Emma put on a united display on Wednesday as he celebrated her birthday.

Cosying up for a photo together, the Coronation star, 50, and his partner looked happier than ever while smiling for a selfie.

In January, Simon’s partner Emma was referred to as his ‘estranged wife’ in business documents, prompting Simon to deny claims that they had split.

Over the months that followed the couple have both been spotted without their wedding rings on multiple occasions.

However, Simon has now put an end to split rumours and wished his partner well on her special day.

He captioned the Instagram photo: ‘Happy birthday to the most beautiful girl ever, period, full stop. No come backs.’

Simon was last seen out without his wedding ring on in Cheshire in March, which continued to fuel marriage split rumours.

The previous month, his wife was spotted without her wedding ring on. Then during a shopping trip in Sainsbury’s she was seen without her wedding ring once again.

Simon married Emma in 2010 after five years of dating, and the couple share three sons: Alfie, 17, Harry, 15, and Henry Teddy, 8.

Rumours of a split had circulated as Simon, who plays Steve McDonald on Corrie, was reportedly facing financial difficulties.

Daily Mail contacted Simon Gregson’s representative for comment.

In February, it was reported that Simon could lose his home if he doesn’t repay a £250,000 loan he took from his production firm.

The veteran soap star repays Simon Gregson Productions a sum of £1,500 per month, according to official papers seen by the Mirror.

A source told the publication: ‘Simon and Emma have not split and are still very much together. Simon has no idea why Emma is listed as his ‘estranged wife’ in financial paperwork.’

It was also reported that Simon and Emma have three years to repay the loan, and if they fail, they have agreed to sell their family home.

The report further states: ‘The Director had an overdrawn loan account of £252,824. The analysis also revealed that this money was removed from the Company’s bank account and paid into Mr Gregory’s joint bank account with his estranged wife. Therefore, any claim would be addressed to both individuals.’

In 2023, Simon liquidated Simon Gregson Productions Ltd, owing £165,000 to HMRC and Coutts bank for a Covid bounce-back loan.

Simon, who first appeared on Corrie in December 1989 at just 15 years old, became a household name as tearaway teen Steve McDonald.

Earlier this year, he bravely opened up about his battle with anxiety attacks on Loose Women, admitting that he didn’t think he could even make it to the show that day.

He appeared on the panel to discuss his journey and coping strategies, hoping to provide support for others experiencing similar struggles.

Opening up about his mental health struggles, Simon said: ‘Yeah, with me it all came to a head in about 2015.’

‘I kept having anxiety attacks, panic attacks. Which is so bizarre because I’ve been having them all day today. I was like there’s no way I can go on.’

‘It just hits you like a ton of bricks and it just makes you completely incapacitated.’

Loose Women panellist Sunetra Sarker, 51, proceeded to ask the star when he first started experiencing symptoms.

To which he candidly replied: ‘I’ve been having them since about 1990, but I just kind of got on with it.’

‘But then when I had children, and they were noticing it and they started talking that they’re getting anxious, I thought ‘Oh I’ve passed it on, it’s like a cold I’ve given them.’
