Celebrity Big Brother’s Marisha Wallace has said Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu’s tearful reaction to the face-to-face nominations was a ‘trauma response.’
The theatre star, 38, came to blows in an explosive argument with the Love Island winner, 29, after she chose her for eviction, which resulted in hysterical crying.
Ekin-Su stormed off to bed with Marisha chasing after her to apologise as she branded her as ‘fake’ and a ‘gameplayer’.
Addressing the feud on Wednesday’s Lorraine, after she became the fifth housemate to be evicted from the house, Marisha said ‘it wasn’t about the nomination at all.’
She explained: ‘I think it was a trauma response from Ekin-Su because she has been betrayed before in her life. So, she thought, “oh this is another person I’ve got close to that has betrayed me.’

Marisha continued: ‘It was not about the nomination at all. It was a deep thing. After it happened we talked and we cried on each other.
‘In that house the motions are so heightened. You’re in a pressure cooker and you’re facing a lot of your traumas and insecurities.’
Speaking about the incident on Late & Live on Tuesday, Marisha gave her side of the story as she revealed she didn’t quite trust Ekin-Su and reignited the feud between them.
As hosts AJ Odudu and Will Best brought up the argument, Will explained: ‘I sort of read it as maybe you had another reason but you were trying to put a nice spin on it.’
‘That’s exactly what it was,’ confirmed Marisha, ‘I was trying to cushion the blow because I just felt, you know when your spidey senses go “bling-a bling-a ling”, I just felt that something wasn’t quite right.’
Referring to Fern Britton’s nomination speech where she accused Ekin-Su of wearing a mask, Marisha explained that this helped consolidate her own feelings.
‘It was when Fern said what she said, and then I thought “Oh wait a minute someone else feels the same kind of way”,’ Marisha revealed.
Clearing things up, AJ confirmed: ‘So what you are saying is that you had a genuine different reason for nominating Ekin-Su but you didn’t want to say it to her face’.

Marisha then added: ‘I didn’t know what to say in the moment. I didn’t know how to articulate it.
‘Maybe I was scared that she might turn on me on the other side.’
Will then probed: ‘So having thought about it what would you have said now, how would you have articulated it?’
Hesitating, Marisha explained: ‘Well I would have just said that when I heard you say some things in the house I just felt a bit wary of you as there were some things that you said that made me feel like maybe I couldn’t trust you so much.
‘That’s what I should have said, but that’s how I felt in that moment. But after that happened we were crying like babies over a teddy bear.
‘But when you first meet these people you don’t know who to trust and after that I felt closer to her, I don’t know if she feels that way, I hope she does.’
‘Do you think she overreacted?’ asked AJ, ‘because you were very apologetic’.
Marisha replied: ‘I was very apologetic. In the moment it wasn’t just about the nomination. I think Ekin-Su has been through a lot in her life.
‘I think she’s been betrayed many times and in that moment it just felt like a betrayal of everything even though it is just a game.
‘And sometimes a trauma response will come out that way, and I totally get it because of the things she had told me in the past.
‘I just felt horrible in that moment because I know what that feels like, to know a friend of yours has betrayed you. I totally get it.’
