Who is presenting Countryfile with Matt Baker?

Hosting the celebratory episode for the RNLI’s astonishing 200 year anniversary is the show’s staple presenter Matt Baker.

The former Blue Peter host has been presenting the popular agriculture show since 2009.

However Matt won’t be ringing in the RNLI’s 200th anniversary alone, as he will be joined by Britain’s best athletes, farmers and more.

On Sunday night audiences can expect to see famed farmer, Adam Henson, world champion wheelchair racer, Samantha Kinghorn as well as presenter Joe Crowley on air.

Where is Countryfile heading this week?

To celebrate the RNLI’s 200th year of saving lives up and down the UK’s coastline, this week’s presenters are heading to Somerset and Cotswolds.

TV presenter and athlete Samantha Kinghorn will be going to the heart of West England with Matt to meet volunteers at Minehead’s RNLI station.

Whilst balancing their own busy schedules, these volunteers sacrifice their own spare time to help save the lives of others on unpredictable and precarious call-outs.

During their visit, fifth generation lifeboat volunteer Andrew Escott will reveal all about the Somerset station’s colourful past.

While chatting with Matt, Andrew is set to share how his great-great uncle led a heroic but dangerous rescue in 1941.

The stalwart Countryfile host will also be put through his paces by other RNLI volunteers at the station in a timed tractor and boat manoeuvre training exercise.

Local RNLI volunteer and farmer Chris Webber will be giving co-host Samantha insight into how he juggles farm life and saving lives on the Somerset coast.

Farmer and author Adam will be making his way over to the Cotswolds in a bid to discover more about the UK’s very first livestock biobank – and how it will impact Britain’s rarest animals.

Changing the pace, Joe Crowley will be delving into Internal Drainage Boards and how the service protects around two million acres of low-lying land in the UK.

The critical public service is facing challenges beyond unpredictable storms – dreaded rising energy bills.

Countryfile will air on BBC One and BBC iPlayer at 7pm on March 10, 2024.
