Channel Nine’s Weekend Today host Clint Stanaway, 41, has been announced as the newsreader for Nova 100’s new breakfast team, Jase Hawkins and Lauren Phillips.

To celebrate the show’s debut on Friday, the trio joined Married at First Sight relationship expert John Aitken for a cheeky video to send up the famed reality series.

The short clip started as if it were a ‘commitment’ segment from MAFS, with Aitkens asking Jase and Lauren about their ‘relationship’.

‘We can’t put our finger on it, but there’s something not right,’ Jase, 42, answerd.

Lauren, 41, seated on the couch next to Jase played along with the joke telling the MAFS coach: ‘There’s definitely something that’s making me feel a bit hollow… like there’s something missing,’

Aitkens then suggested the pair ‘spice things up’, by adding a ‘third’.

The camera then cut Clint sitting on the far end of the couch.

Lauren was then seen moving to hug Stan while an unhappy looking Jase exclaimed: ‘Well I didn’t know that was going to happen…so this is how it’s going to be.’

Jase and Lauren’s KIIS FM breakfast show was replaced by KIIS FM stars Kyle Sandilands and Jackie ‘O’ Henderson amid their historic $200million 10-year radio expansion into Melbourne.

The pair, alongside Clint, will be going up against their old colleagues in the breakfast slot on Nova FM from March 8.

Nova 100’s current breakfast team, Ben, Liam & Belle, will host a brand new national show Late Drive, airing weekdays from 6pm to 8pm.

Jase and Lauren recorded their last KIIS FM show on December 1, while ARN released a statement earlier this year revealing Byron Cooke will remain on KIIS 101.1 during the summer before Kyle and Jackie O make their way south.

In November, Sydney-based radio duo Kyle and Jackie ‘O’ signed a record-breaking $200million, 10-year deal live on-air – keeping them on the airwaves until 2034.

A spokesperson for ARN confirmed to Daily Mail Australia the deal for the Sydney duo meant their work pals Jase Hawkins and Lauren Phillips were out of a job and their Melbourne breakfast show finished up in December.
