The BBC paid tribute to Dave Myers on Tuesday night as the next episode of Hairy Bikers Go West aired, just days after its star’s death.

The continuity announcer for BBC Two introduced the 7pm episode with the words: ‘To Wales in really good company, the light, zesty and lovely Dave Myers, gone but not forgotten’.

The TV chef passed away last week aged 66 with his friends and family by his side, two years after he revealed he was undergoing treatment for an unspecified type of cancer.

Viewers were left in tears as they watched Dave on screen with best friend Si King.

‘OMG hearing Dave’s voice open this episode of Hairy Bikers Go West. I’m chopping onions honest,’ tweeted one viewer.
